This is Frankie 🐾
9 years old… and quite possibly Dr. KK’s “unofficial miniature Border Collie” 😄

But behind that cute face—Frankie has been fighting a nasty cancer.

Don’t get fooled by marketing !!! Food is food and Dogs don’t need “Dog Food” ….

Study: What you feed your dog can change their health in just 14 days.

Processing matters. Just like in humans, ultra-processed diets are linked to health concerns and similar patterns are being seen in dogs. How much a dog’s food is processed can affect digestion, nutrient absorption, gut bacteria, and overall metabolic and immune health.

A new peer-reviewed study found dogs eating a gently cooked diet (Lyka Pet Food) had better digestion, healthier gut bacteria, and smaller blood sugar spikes than dogs on kibble (Hill’s Pet Nutrition).

Lower spikes = less stress on the body and inflammation, supporting heart health, immune balance, and healthier aging.

Regular Body Care
Book regular sessions with your soft tissue therapist to keep joints and muscles moving well, pick up issues early, and talk through any changes you’ve noticed.

Managing Pain & Stiffness
Aches and stiffness are common as dogs age. Therapies like Bowen, laser, and red light can help reduce pain and discomfort and support better movement.

Nutrition Matters
Older dogs have different needs. A diet with quality protein, joint support, and appropriate calories can make a big difference. (Happy to guide you on this.)

A Comfortable Home
Make life easier for them:
• Soft, supportive bedding
• Raised food and water bowls on a non-slip mat
• Non-slip mats to prevent slipping on slippery floors

Gentle Exercise
Keep them moving, but keep it kind:
• Short, regular walks
• Let them set the pace
This helps joints stay mobile and prevents weight gain

• Toileting habits
• Behaviour
These can be early signs that something isn’t right.
