The Illawarra reptile society had the grassland earless dragon alliance as a guest speaker lastnight at there monthly general meeting.
Great talk & interesting information about one of Australia’s long lost reptiles the grasslands earless dragon .
The Victorian grasslands earless dragon ( Tympanocryptis pinguicolla ) has been rediscovered after 50 years. Until last year the last time one was seen was 1969.
The Bathurst earless dragon ( Tympanocryptis mccartneyi ) Hasn’t been seen since the mid 1990s .
There is also the ACT species of earless dragon .(tympanocryptis lineata)

Tympanocryptis means hidden ear .
They do have an ear but it’s covered by tiny scales .
All three of these earless dragon species is critically endangered almost though to be extinct. Until recently.
This is why habitat conservation is so important.

The earless dragon alliance are doing marvellous research with this species .
Jump on board & show your support give them alike & a share .
If you can volunteer your time or even support them with funding to help them to continue there research .
