🍃 Bircher's Day Out 🍃

This handsome chap was feeling a bit lonely after his kennel buddy was adopted so one of our wonderful volunteers treated him to an extra special outing! 🐶

"Bircher went on a little adventure to Perry Lakes. He loved watching the ducks and sticking his head out the car window. It took him a bit to settle, but once he did he thoroughly enjoyed the park. He leaned in for reassurance and lots of pats. If bird watching is your thing, Bircher is a great companion ♥️ such a good boy!"

Bircher is so eager to bound on out of kennels and into a fun-loving forever home where he can enjoy plenty of adventures, doggy playdates and all the positive guidance he needs to grow into the perfect companion 💙

These absolutely gorgeous 9 week old medium mix breed pups have spent the past couple weeks winning hearts in their foster homes and now they're ready to find forever families to cherish them. Confident, happy and playful, these babies could live with young kids and doggy siblings and will be ready to join their new families this Saturday 🐶

Before applying, please remember puppies are a 12+ year commitment and they will need plenty of company, positive training and lots of love as they settle in and grow 🌱

If you are confident you are ready to welcome one of these bundles of joy into your life, enquire via the steps below:
1️⃣ Fill out the adoption questionnaire: https://www.dogshome.org.au/adoption-questionnaire/ and make sure to put “German Litter" in the "Name of Dog Interested In" section.
2️⃣ Email [email protected] to make sure you don't miss out on these cuties! If you’ve applied previously - skip step one and go straight to the email ☺️
Our puppy coordinator will then be in touch if your application is successful to arrange a meet and greet with you and the other members of your household 🏠

Adoptions 25th to 31st May

Apologies for this late post of our adoption album. Public Holidays are always busy and today was no different at the Dogs’ Home.

Firstly, we hope everyone managed to stay safe during the wild weather this weekend. We had minimal damage but were understandably very quiet with visitors yesterday especially.

We had a much quieter week than normal but still 19 adoptions great adoptions including 14 dogs and 5 pups.

We are very full at the moment with 13 dogs arriving today and 10 tomorrow so please help us to spread the word about adoption and fostering 🙏

This sweet 8 month old pup isn't loving kennel life but that's because this energetic smarty pants should be in a home of her own, having lots of fun, enjoying the company of her people and dog friends and learning lots of new tricks! 🐶 Juno will suit a patient, understanding family and as well as a doggy brother who can help her build up her confidence and put her difficult past behind her 🥹🥰

And what better way to enjoy this public holiday than by bringing home your new best friend! 🐶 This goofy 3 year old Staffy mix can be a sensitive boy when it comes to new situations but give him some time and he'll show you his sweet, snuggly side 🥹

This pupdate might just bring you to tears! 🥹❤️

Wren first came into our care from a local pound in January 2016. She was quickly adopted but just two years later, found herself back at the Refuge looking for a second chance at her happily ever after. Her life was changed on 4th June 2018 when she met her new mums. After many amazing years with her forever family, Wrennie recently passed away but we wanted to share her incredible story full of love 🥰

"We thought we’d give you an update on our beautiful Wrennie-girl. We adopted her from the Refuge in 2018 - she was 4.5 years old.

Wrennie was, and still is, a huge part of our family and we love her so much. She was the best dog, friend and family member and she turned me and my wife into a family of three. Since then, we actually became a family of four, and Wrennie became a big sister to a little human! The two of them had the best relationship - another person in our home to pour her love into.

Wren was such a cuddle-bug. She spent most of her time snoozing on the bed or the couch, tucked up beside us. If she wasn’t napping, she was scuffling around for toddlers crumbs like a little vacuum 😂 Everyone who met her, loved her. To know her really was to love her. You couldn’t help it, she was so gentle and sweet and loving.

I really can’t describe what she means to us - our home feels terribly empty without her in it. But, as we said to each other on our final day, she couldn’t spend the rest of her life with us, but the next best thing is that we got to spend the rest of her life with her.

Thank you for bringing her into our lives. It was always meant to happen. Her presence and friendship has forever changed us as a family and we will cherish the time we had with our soul-dog. Everytime we see a rainbow now, we think of her - we call them Wrenbows - and it makes us feel a little better, like she’s saying hi to her family.

Rescue is the best breed 💛"

This little low rider is Blade! 🐶

He may have tiny legs but he's got a big personality and bigger heart! 🩵 Blade is just 1 year old and has sadly spent the majority of his life outside in the backyard so he's looking for a family who can help him adjust to family life and show him how great snuggles on the couch are 🥰

Blade would like some calm, polite doggy friends who will take things at his pace and he would be happiest as the only pooch in the home so he can have all your love and affection! He’s just a little guy who is unsure at times and could do with a patient, understanding family 🥺
