Patient of the day 🏆🥇

Pablo was in earlier this week for a dental and was awarded the title of patient of the day by the team ! Jumping into the arms of the nurses and enjoying a frolic in the grass after his anaesthetic how could he not get this title 👑

He was an absolute delight to have in clinic and he has all of our hearts ❤️❤️

This green eyed beauty is Luna 💖

We had the absolute pleasure of having her in hospital with us today so that we could investigate her intermittent lameness with some digital Xrays

She was truly the perfect patient and we took advantage of her chill personality to spoil her with some pampering before her parents came to collect her! 🐱💕

Uh oh! Your pet has a fresh surgical site (think desexing wound or lump removal) which suddenly looks swollen – what could be going on?

Wound puffiness can occur due to:

⚠️ Soft tissue inflammation (more likely with overactivity)
⚠️ The formation of a seroma (fluid swelling)
⚠️ Inflammation from the body reacting excessively to internal stitches
⚠️ Infection (which is more likely if your pet has licked the wound, or the wound was contaminated)
⚠️ Wound breakdown

If you have any concerns about your pet post-operatively, it’s always best to reach out promptly to our caring team.

Does your dog “live their best life” on walks, but then look a bit sore and sorry for themselves later? 🐾

Limping after exercise can occur due to a range of musculoskeletal problems, including:

🦴 Hip or elbow dysplasia
🦴 Arthritis
🦴 Cruciate ligament disease (which can progress gradually in some dogs)
🦴 Weekend warrior syndrome, where dogs who are sedentary during the week then “go too hard” on the weekend, causing excessive muscle strain or damage

Early assessment and intervention is best, so if your dog shows persistent or recurrent limping, hop on down to our clinic!
