Sparky wants to play with everyone he meets, so this line exercise is a big challenge!😲

It's a great way to test your dog's self-control in the company of lots of other pooches.

Each owner takes a turn to walk their dog up and down the line, weaving in out of the rows as they make their way.

We're careful to give reactive dogs the distance they need to feel comfortable, while still testing them, so they get a chance to learn.

Butcher was rescued from the pound - and he's all set to live his best life💙

But the German Shepherd-Rottie X lacks confidence around people, and tends to react when he feels crowded.

He especially dislikes being touched on the head. His owner worries about his reaction if people try to stroke him when out and about.

They are learning new ways to help Butcher manage his anxiety, with gradual socialisation helping this good-natured dog to settle down and chill out!🩵

Keenu, the Golden Retriever, started to be reactive to his housemate . . . . so he landed at Sankiri! 🐕

With his stunning white-blonde coat and friendly nature, he's a beautiful boy. He just just needs some work on his socialising skills.

We do plenty of proximity work, with exercises designed to challenge our doggie students and test their self-control.

It's all done in a safe, supportive space, so everyone knows their boundaries.

Maggie, the young German wire-haired Pointer, just needed a firm hand to know who's boss! 😎

When the cute 14-month-old first came to Sankiri, she wasn't listening. She wasn't obeying. She was pretty much doing what she liked 😲

Her owner really put in, learning the techniques needed to take charge. Now they're reaping the rewards.

Maggie is calmer and behaving a lot better, so both are happier. Well done you! 🥰

Nyla, the handsome German Shepherd, is finally back in step :)🚶

Aged one and a half, Nyla was causing lots of problems at home, with her boisterous and over-protective behaviour.

She'd bark at visitors, try to rule the house, and generally over-stepped the mark!

Now she's settling nicely in her Sankiri classes, walking calmly among other dogs in proximity training exercises.

Her owner has put in the work needed to help her shine . . . and it's paying off.

Nyla, you're a star :)⭐️

Presley, the 3-year-old black Spaniel, is aptly named. He can sing along to Elvis Presley songs!

We were treated to a demonstration at training - pretty impressive, Presley!

Yet Presley can also be reactive to other dogs, which is why he's doing a course of Sankiri training ....🤔

Marlu (right of picture), Sankiri's training dog, is hanging out with Presley to calm him down, and demonstrate how cool it is to be chill :)🐕

We reckon Presley will soon find his rhythm! 🎶🎵

Don't be fooled by Willow, the handsome American Bulldog. He's a real nervous nellie! 🙈

A bad experience with another dog left him anxious and reluctant to socialise. Now he's having to learn that the world can be a safe place for him, after all.

Working alongside the group, Willow has a chance to build his confidence and test his boundaries.

Once he's feeling up to it, he can join Sankiri classes and really go through his paces!

Willow, the world awaits you :) 🩵💙

There's no group training this weekend, and we're no longer training at Seaford Park Primary School.

Blue Heelers, like Blaze, are high-energy herding dogs. They can be challenging to train!

It's vital they get firm training right from the start, to prevent issues like nipping at people's feet, and being over-protective of their owners.

Blaze, 2, is reactive to other dogs and people. Her owner is working hard at Sankiri to identify triggers, and manage difficult behaviours.

The more Blaze socialises, the more she learns about correct doggie etiquette. Her owner, meanwhile, is building the skills and confidence needed to keep her out of trouble!

OAKLEY Pt 2: What's next for Oakley, now she's finding her puppy feet? 💜

She was scheduled for a second private lesson, running alongside the Puppy Transition group. This is a safe and supportive space for Oakley to build confidence, and learn that the world can actually be fun!

This group is reserved for older pups without reactivity issues, so every youngster gets to enjoy a good experience. Lorraine works separately with any reactive pups, to ensure a safe and gradual entry to group work.
