Stud staff must remain vigilant as we approach the high-risk period for exposure to hairy processionary caterpillars

The processionary caterpillar eggs have hatched and are growing.
It is time to start checking the trees and bushes around your pregnant mare paddocks.
If you find any nests removed them CAREFULLY - they can cause nasty reactions - and bury them or burn them.
These caterpillars are known to cause abortion in mares so it is best to act now and remove any in the area.
Can you see the nests? - close ups to follow
