Our current FT employee finishes on the 16th of March (due to visa restrictions). We are very sad to see her go as she has become part of the family! (Note if you’re looking for a staff member within 1 hour of Newcastle PM me as Emilie is incredible, can’t fault her, but to best of homes only 😉)
We’re looking for someone to join us in the full time role. We offer a very relaxed and chilled work environment on a lovely farm with lovely horses, dogs, ponies, bunny, and a toddler. You will need your own vehicle (or have a licence and be able to drive an auto), and a visa/rights to work, and be available to start in March.

The role:
- 10 day fortnight. (average 6hrs days) Every second Thursday-Sunday off. (Additional weekends off can be coordinated).
- Feeding approx. 20 horses am (7/7.30) and pm (4pm) + rugging according to the weather. Using an automatic buggy.
- Making feeds and stacking the buggy
- Filling feed bins
- Washing loads in machine and hung out.
- General horse handling shifting paddocks, bringing in and holding for farrier and vet etc.
- administering medications
- light gardening
- deep cleaning feed rooms / tack rooms regularly
- sole time management of jobs throughout the days / weeks
- handling young horses from foals to yearlings, including colts
- Ad hoc jobs such as poo picking, cleaning waters, spraying weeds etc
- All horses are individually paddocked with all their rugs stored at their gates in wheeliebins.
- Very systematic organised farm with everything labelled.

The pay:
- miscellaneous award salary package including accomodation that’s fully set up, diesel, utilities, wifi, Netflix, Stan, paramount, Disney plus, agistment of your own horse, farrier, dentist, massage and physio covered through salary package, wages paid every fortnight.
- Fortnightly wages based on if you bring your own horse or not, super paid on top.
- wages based on experience
Successful applicant must haves:
- 110% confident handling young to old horses, performance horses, breeding mares and colts,
MUST HAVE SIGNIFICANT EQUINE HANDLING EXPERIENCE
- Ability to drive a buggy (auto),
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to know each horse and their characteristics.
- MUST be reliable and have a work place reference 😊
The property:
-The paddocks are all rested regularly so have plenty of grass in them in this dryer time
- Automatic waterers cleaned weekly,
- gate/fence feeders,
- fenced with only the best Duncan Equine Stallion Rail that’s fully electric
- Paddocks are shaded either with trees or shade cloths
- Full agistment includes all your horses feed and hay twice daily, rugging and unrugging based on the weather,
- facilities include;
- 60x30 arena,
- round yard,
- grass riding area,
- show jumps
- 2km private lane hacking
- powered and well lit tack storage,
- powered and well lit concrete cross ties and hot and cold water wash bay,
- Fridge/freezer,
- washing machine,
- float parking,
- wheelie bin at horses gate for their rugs and bits and bobs to be stored in,
- and we can organise the farrier / vet / chiro if required for your horse.
