Thank you to everyone who reached out yesterday through phone calls and messages. I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to respond to everyone.
Yesterday was always going to be challenging, we knew that, but we weren’t exactly prepared for all that came our way.
Yesterday morning we ventured to Hamilton to say our final farewells to a beautiful friend. We knew we were leaving home on a potentially dangerous fire risk day but we weren’t going to miss Kev’s funeral.
On the way home we realised the fires in Skipton had gained momentum so we were quick to get back home, unfortunately the highway was closed and they detoured us through Ararat which added another 45 mins to our trip.
Once home, Craig prepped the house while I loaded our ponies and began the drop off to Ballarat Pony Club, two trips later and camping gear in tow, we were safe. I thought this is where I could relax, turns out not to be.
I had had belly pains all day and thought I was either getting gastro or food poisoning. By midnight I was getting worse so off I trot to hospital where I spent 6 hrs on a drip, turns out I was severely dehydrated.
Anyway, we’re home again now, safe and hopefully no more silly bush fires for a while. I need some sleep 😜😂
Thank you to everyone who pitched in and helped me with the ponies last night in my absence. ❤️❤️
