Emily Flies was raised in the suburbs of upstate New York where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and psychology. After a few years of teaching outdoor education, she completed a master’s degree in disease ecology and a PhD in disease ecology and epidemiology at the University of South Australia in Adelaide. She is now a Senior Lecturer at UTAS in Environments and Sustainable Communities in the School of Geography Planning and Spatial Sciences.
Alice has volunteered and worked in the environment sector with ENGO’s and grassroot community groups for a decade. Dappling in law through to citizen science, she now leads the Wilderness Society Tasmania.
Tabatha Badger MP is the member for Lyons in the Tasmanian House of Assembly. She is a keen bushwalker and landscape photographer dedicated to protecting our globally unique environment. Tabatha has served as Chair of the Wilderness Society, Campaign Director of Restore Pedder and sat on the committee of various other ENGOs and community associations. Professionally, Tabatha was running a business undertaking conservation and ecosystem management, and she has a Masters in Tourism.
Susan Gough is a senior lawyer with 30 years experience practicing in environmental, renewable energy, climate change and natural resources law. She has volunteered her time on boards in the environmental (Tasmanian Land Conservancy) and higher education (UTAS Foundation) sectors with a focus on sustainability, governance and philanthropic issues. Susan currently leads the legal function at TasNetworks (after 22 years at Hydro Tasmania).
