🐶 FOUND: Little Adventurer Alert! 🐾
This cheeky 9-year-old Jack Russell cross decided to take herself on a solo train trip and was found exploring Runcorn Train Station today!

Sadly, her microchip details are out of date, so we haven’t been able to ring her humans just yet.

But don’t worry — she’s currently staying warm, dry, and very spoilt at My Own Vet, bravely riding out the storm like the tiny hero she is! ⚡⛈️

📍 Where she is: 1/233 Evans Road, Salisbury
📞 Phone: 3277 6594

If her family doesn’t come forward by Monday, we’ll need to contact the council 😥
Please share so we can reunite this little adventurer with her humans! 💕🐾

🐾💖 Meet Miss Mia! 💕🐶
Beautiful Mia came to see us unexpectedly after her mum noticed she was vomiting blood 😢💔. Naturally, her mum was very worried — and when our pet parents are worried, we’re worried too! 💙🐾

As soon as we heard her concerns, we asked her to bring Mia straight in 🚗💨💉. We always make space for emergencies because we care deeply for all of our patients 🏥💞🐾.
Here’s a photo of our gorgeous Mia (asking for cuddles, of course — in true Staffie style! 😍🐶💋). She was seen within half an hour of her mum’s call ⏰💖👏

Remember — you know your pet best! 🐕🐈💡
If something doesn’t seem right, please contact us right away 📞💬💗.

We’ll always do our best to see your furry family member as soon as possible ❤️🐾🌟
✨ And don’t worry — love from our team and plenty of cuddles are ALWAYS included

BECAUSE WE LOVE YOUR PETS 💕

Solo is a sad boy now because he’s officially ordinary.

His body, however, has proven to be extraordinary!

Solo was desexed at the clinic when he was 6 months old. He was what we call in the industry a bilateral cryptorchid.
(Bilateral cryptorchidism means that both testicles failed to descend into the sc***um and instead remained inside the abdomen or groin. This condition is relatively uncommon and can increase the risk of certain health issues if left untreated.)

Although there was evidence that both testicles were removed at the time of surgery, Solo continued to show signs of being an entire male dog…

After further investigation, and with the help of a specialist ultrasonographer, we discovered what appeared to be a third testicle!
(A true “third testicle,” or polyorchidism, is extremely rare — with fewer than 200 cases ever reported in humans and only a handful documented in veterinary literature. In dogs, it’s estimated to occur in less than 0.002% of the population!)

What a man! Solo will be sure to make other males jealous!

Now that this extra testicle has been removed, he can fully enjoy life as a completely desexed dog — without any of the risks associated with being an entire male.
If you have any questions about desexing your dog, be sure to ask your friendly team at My Own Vet for advice!

🐾 This cheeky little ginger boy definitely cashed in one of his nine lives! 🐾

He came to us knocking on death’s door after swallowing... well, something he definitely shouldn’t have! 😅

Emergency surgery was a must — and when we finally retrieved the mystery object, even we were scratching our heads. Something rubbery? A toy? A secret alien artifact? Your guess is as good as ours! 👀

**PHOTO OF THE FOREIGN BODY IN THE COMMENTS SECTION** 👇👇

The good news? He’s now feeling purrfectly fine, soaking up all the love, biscuits, and head bumps he can get. ❤️
If your furry friend ever decides to snack on something suspicious, don’t wait — give our friendly team at My Own Vet a call! We’re here to help you figure out the best next steps. 🩺🐶🐱

🎃 The Spookiest Surprise of All…

💀 Emergency Vet Bills! 💀

Unexpected pet emergencies can be frightening — not just for your furry friend, but for your wallet too.
That’s why we accept Afterpay and VetPay to help ease the financial pressure during stressful times.

🩺 A Quick Note About Vet Costs:
Veterinary care can seem expensive, especially when compared to human healthcare — but there’s a key difference:
Veterinary services aren't subsidised by Medicare or government funding.
In fact, every blood test, surgery, and check-up is funded solely through clinic revenue. That includes costs like:
• Highly trained vets and nurses
• Medical equipment and diagnostics
• Medications, surgical supplies, and more
• Rent, electricity, insurance — the list goes on!

Unlike many healthcare professions, vets often work long hours for comparatively modest pay, driven by a deep love for animals.
So while we truly wish we could help everyone at no cost, every discount we offer comes directly from our own pocket — not government support.

🐾 By supporting your local vet, you’re helping us stay open and ready to care for your pets when they need it most.
We’re in this together — for the love of animals!
