MyOwnVet is opened 6 days a week for our client’s convenience. We also offer emergency after hour phone services, and home visits/consults in the comfort of your own home at no extra cost to you.

Meet our newest receptionist, Sully 🐾
Sully came in to work off his debt after most likely eating something he definitely shouldn’t have 😅

Unfortunately, he wasn’t exactly employee of the month material… as you can see, he fell asleep on the job 💤

Thankfully, he’s ridiculously cute, so we’ve decided to let it slide this time 💛

In future, we’ll definitely be checking resumes a little more thoroughly 😂

Did you know we can offer orthopaedic surgery right here at My Own Vet? 🐾

We’re so lucky to have a wonderfully skilled surgeon visiting our clinic to perform routine orthopaedic surgeries — often at a much lower cost than specialist centres! ✨

Just look at sweet Potato 🥔💛 He recovered so incredibly well after surgery that he actually needed sedation the next day to stop him from using his leg too much! 😂

We love seeing our patients back to their happy, cheeky selves so quickly 🐶💕

Cat Vs Dog? Who is the better pet? 😂

The dog has me outside at 11pm, trying to cut up a stuffed hoof treat just so I can go to bed in peace… 🐶

Meanwhile the cats are sitting on the kitchen counter, staring at me like tiny furry supervisors, wondering why I’m even bothering to get the dog to sleep… fully aware they’ll be launching themselves across my face at 3am until I finally give up and feed them. 🐱

Dogs: needy toddlers with zoomies.
Cats: tiny unhinged landlords who own the house.

Which species is actually better?

Following on from our post on Monday about mental health, we’d like to take a moment to give a huge shoutout to our amazing vet, Dr Cat Perna, and her adorable walking buddy Monty 🐾💙

Dr Cat is taking part in Coastrek — Australia’s iconic hiking challenge — where she and her team will tackle an incredible 50km coastal walk to raise funds for Beyond Blue while promoting health, fitness, wellbeing, and important conversations around mental health.

In Australia, around 5 million people are living with anxiety and depression, and nearly half of us will experience a mental health condition in our lifetime. Every day, more than 750 people reach out to Beyond Blue for support — that’s over 275,000 life-changing conversations each year.

Cat’s Coastrek journey will involve months of training, soft sand, sore feet, probably a blister or two… but also plenty of laughs, connection, beautiful scenery, and an amazing sense of achievement crossing that finish line 💪🌊
