Due to the ongoing shortage of adoptions in the north of the state, Robin, Bunker, Errol, Rex and Elsa are now in the care of Ten Lives in Hobart, so please let your southern-dwelling friends know to keep an eye out for them in the coming weeks, and I will share when I see them appear in the adoption listings!

(That's Bunker being tall while hoping to get a snack)

Good news, everyone!
All the Cat Shack's denizens have been tested today for FIV and they are all negative (do not have it).

I can confidently offer Bunker (pictured - male about 4 years old) and Robin (short-hair black female about 3) for adoption, if anyone local might be interested in them, otherwise I will be potentially looking into passing them on to Ten Lives down south.

Let me know if you'd like to know more about their personalities.

Rex (short hair brown tabby) has had a course of medication that has also fixed his mouth for the moment, but anyone who adopted him would need to keep an eye on it.
Errol (white and tabby) is still taking his antibiotic paste, which he thinks is a delicious snack, though he doesn't love that it's dispensed into his mouth via a tube.

More pictures etc soon.

Hi friends, you haven't heard from me in a while, mostly due to some personal drama I've had going on. The Cat Shack is kind of in a holding pattern at the moment.
I still have a number of adult cats who really don't need to be here and would love forever homes:
ERROL (pictured)
REX
ROBIN
BUNKER
SCAREDY
ELSA
MISTRESS HISS
but of course they always get all shy when anyone comes to meet them, so they need special adopters.

I'm also this week (coinciding with a "very convenient" catastrophic drop in my hours of employment and thus income) dealing with the question of whether Rex and Errol will need some dental surgery (*) and also Scaredy has some stress-related bladder troubles.

So, yeah.

(*) Rex and Errol are from the Cornwall population, which seems to have a predisposition to gingivostomatitis, as do quite a lot of our stray populations.
The 'easiest' fix for it is tooth extractions, which the cats are perfectly happy with once they're done and healed up, but the dental surgery ain't cheap.

Friends! I have adult cats in need of adoption, here in the St Helens region! They have been with me way too long!
They tend to be quite shy of strangers who come to meet them, so you'll need to have the time and patience to let them bloom.
Please let me know if you know anyone looking for a new family member!

Candidates include:
* Bunker - big athletic black boy
* Robin - adventurous shorthair black female
* Errol - tabby and white, goodest boy
* Rex - Errol's brother, full tabby, bit sooky
* Mistress Hiss - small, fat, black and very quirky
* Elsa - a shy sweetie who enjoys the outdoors
* Amber - very pretty, but hates people, if you just need help in the barn...

Get your cat the snip in September, Break O Day peeps!

A special treat for you today - not one, not two but *three* videos!
Matey and Sweetums went to live at NEAST HQ this morning, so I grabbed some new footage of the other cats too. There are a lot of familiar faces, which means they've been waiting a long time for their forever homes and we need more adopters, please! πŸ™πŸΌ
