Hi Everyone
DDC will be holding a comittee meeting Tues 2nd Sept 6.30pm at the Bank Hotel any members are welcome to attend or join the comittee!, with the windy weather we are feeling positive about the ground drying for our Championship Event 28th Sept and Carr & Day & Martin Australia Trot up
In the meeting we will also be discussing future direction of the club for 2026, we have noticed that our official entries are low and the majority of riders are AOR or Off the Track with a few ponies/juniors.
Therefore we will be voting if we continue to offer official tests or if we stick to offering unofficial grassroots dressage with fun themes and training days with maybe some new ideas such as group training days for the warm weather so we just have a morning session.

For our champs offering five categories plus official/unofficial this meant purchasing 30 champion rugs and 30 res champ prizes and with having a limit of about 70 riders this is very much over the top amount of rugs to offer, so I am also asking what people think is satisfactory for a champion/reserve to win at a small event, would a rosette and a smaller prize be sufficient as its probably not cost effective to continue to offer so many rugs at a huge expense, cutting this back means we can keep entry fees at a reasonable amount and not consider any price increases in 2026.

We have wonderful sponsors and will definitely continue our Off the Track Category/Challenges. as this is very popular and worthwhile.
Please let us know your thoughts and ideas for our consideration.
Also if you would like to help at the next event please message or comment, we need one more all day penciller paid $70, we need a couple of people to help put up arenas/set up $50 for approx 2 hours work on the friday morning 10am before comp (26th Sept), we need someone to help serve the judges lunches and some people to help pack up arenas sunday afternoon
We were also discussing if a presentation night is a good idea or do people prefer collecting prizes on the day?😃😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Ps if you do help we are keeping a record and you are in the draw to win some free memberships for 2026

This was one of my favourite discoveries during the Saddle Fit session at the Equestricare residential in Yass, NSW. Our course facilitator from Evolution Equine Services - Maggie Ashley was a font of all knowledge!
