βοΈPlease be awareβοΈ Now the weather is warming up, bobtails are becoming more active and you may see them in your garden, parks or on the road.
π¦ If you find an injured bobtail or need to move one from immediate danger, carefully scoop it into a box or use a towel to gently pick it up.
If you have no other means, distract the bobtail with a decoy hand π so you can grasp it behind the neck with your other hand, and gently lift and support under its body with your decoy hand.
π¦ Injured bobtails should be kept warm and quiet and brought immediately to Native Animal Rescue in Malaga or your closest wildlife centre for specialist care.
π Look out on roads! If removing a bobtail from the road, place it in a safe area in the direction it was travelling so it can continue its journey.
π³ If you are lucky enough to have bobtails in your garden, gently rake long grass first before mowing or using a whipper snipper.
π¦π¦ Bobtails are territorial and mate for life, please do not attempt to relocate one to another area without speaking to a wildlife centre for advice first.
We can all help to keep our wildlife safe! πΏ
