THIS IS MY GO TO STUFF. GREAT READING!!
Black Salve success story
Blaze is a 19 year old ex trail riding thoroughbred that we have owned for 4 years and used for pleasure riding. He is sweet and near bomb proof and a great confidence booster, very good with beginners and children.
Approximately 18 months ago we first noticed a lump on his sheath that looked like a snail. During the next few months we monitored it and for the first few months it didn’t really change, however by July 2014 it started to grow in size quickly. It never seemed to affect Blaze and we did think it was perhaps an abscess or similar. After talking with farrier and a number of horse friends and some research I did think it could be a sarcoid.
In August a good friend told me about black salve and encouraged me to discuss this with Ashley. I spoke with Ashley and emailed photo’s her Blaze’s lump and she agreed that it looked like a sarcoid and explained how Black Salve worked and how to treat Blaze.
We commenced the treatment on 30th August and by this stage there were 3 nodules with the largest one being the size of a orange.
Blaze was very good during the application and it was something similar to icing a cake. I focused on the largest nodule however did try and cover all three if I could. I continued with a treatment plan of 3 days on and 3 days off for 8 weeks. At first, I admit I was sceptical about how this clay like black ointment could possibly fix the big ugly dangling tumour and made a couple of calls to Ashley, who reassured me I was doing the right thing. Also on advise by Ashley we gave Blaze colloidal silver each day for 2 months.
During the treatment period the sarcoid oozed bloody puss.
Exactly 2 months from first treatment on 30th October, the largest nodule just fell off as Ashley said it would. I was lucky enough to find it in the paddock – it measured 9 cm and weighed 79grams the photo isn’t the best as I was shaking with excitement (sorry).
I have been treating the last two smaller nodules for the past two weeks, and yesterday one also just fell off. Only one to go!
Blaze’s overall health and wellbeing has improved, he’s eyes are brighter, coat shiner and he has an abundance of additional energy. Blaze and I thank Ashley and Black Salve which potentially saved a horses life – one very worth saving!
