Seventy-five years ago, one woman made a promise to Tasmania's dogs.
In 1950, Miss Gladys Rawson founded what would become Dogs' Homes of Tasmania. Her vision was simple — that no dog should be left without care, compassion or a second chance.
That promise still stands today.
Since then, generations of Tasmanians have helped us be there for dogs who are abandoned, surrendered, injured, neglected or simply out of options.
And the need has never gone away. Neither has the need for community support to ensure we can continue this essential work.
More than 2,000 dogs have come through our doors this financial year. More than 2,000 dogs who needed food, shelter, veterinary care, safety, hope and the opportunity for a second chance.
As a charity, we receive no government funding for this work. Everything we do is made possible by people who care deeply about dogs and want to ensure no dog in Tasmania has to suffer or be without the love and care they deserve.
❤️ Can you help us be there for every dog?
