🐴 A LITTLE FYI ABOUT EQUINE IMAGE FALSE TAILS BY JOCELYN 🐴
I’ve noticed quite a few second-hand false tails popping up on Facebook lately, often advertised as being from Equine Image.
As they seem to appear in my feed almost every day, I naturally have a look — and quite often I can see they aren’t actually one of my tails!
So, I thought I’d clarify a few things for anyone buying or selling second-hand.
How to identify one of my tails:
• All my tails are hand-woven by me, not made using a sewing machine.
• My non-weighted tails are tagged with my Equine Image identification.
• My weighted tails haven’t been tagged for at least the past year. Instead, I’ve been incorporating a small loop at the base as part of my cord system.
• This allows the owner to cable-tie additional weight to the base if required.
• My weighted tails have their fixed weight positioned in the middle, have a double-loop top and are hand-woven.
These details are a good way to identify my workmanship.
Whether it’s a Simone or Supreme false tail, the quality is there — just a different method of construction. 😉
A little advice when buying second-hand:
Please make sure you know who you’re buying from and, more importantly, understand exactly what you’re purchasing.
Check:
* Actual tail length.
* Thickness and fullness.
* Whether it’s weighted or non-weighted.
* If weighted, what is the final weight?
* Condition and construction of the tail.
A photo doesn’t always tell the whole story, and the right length, thickness and weight make a big difference to how a tail suits your horse and your discipline.
