This egg made it to hatching even as moldy and tiny as it was, but the baby is extremely small and weak. I do think he is a fighter. I’m doing everything I can to keep him going , I had to detach him from the yolk it was starting to go bad. So it’s up to him now, and I’ll try to get hydration and calories into him. Thinking of names for him.. any ideas? - MaryBeth

These 2 probable parthenogenesis girls made their debut this weekend. After discussion with more experienced breeders , we’ve decided this was most like a partho clutch. If these girls survive and eat for me, they will go to a pet only home at a reduced fee. 🙏🏻 hopefully they do well, one is much smaller than the other and left some of her yolk in the egg , so we will see. They are ivory +/- mahogany since mom is a mahogany YB. - MaryBeth

A quick message from a vet professional who also keeps and breeds snakes ! I had a mistake that could have cost Coraline her life. I didn’t latch her tank properly and she got free. I have 3 cats. 3 very naughty cats. Thankfully my husband found her alive in the dish drying rack last night and probably saved her from a worse fate. Her tail was chewed on , she lost a good chunk of it and the bone was exposed. I immediately texted my amazing exotics vet who I work with to see what she recommended (Sunday night of course). She had me come in today to asses it and see if she needed to clean up the wound and suture it - which she did end up doing. The bone that I could see was not even attached to the rest of her just being held on by skin and muscle. 😢 I’ll be giving her antibiotic shots and keeping it clean until her sutures come out in 4 weeks or more. Reptiles heal much slower than we do and the wound could get worse despite our best efforts. All we can do it wait and see., but I will be kicking myself for this one for a while.
