☀️ Warmer Weather Alert ☀️
Summer is well and truly here and as temperatures start to rise, our pets can be at increased risk of heat stress.
Whilst we most commonly see this condition in dogs, all companion animals including cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds can be vulnerable.
Here are a few simple tips to help keep your pets comfortable and safe:
💧 Always provide fresh, cool water.
🌳 Ensure they have access to shade and cool resting areas.
🐕 Walk dogs during the early morning or evening hours when temperatures are cooler.
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car, even for a few minutes.
😮💨 Be aware of the symptoms of heat stress: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhoea or in severe cases weakness and even collapse.
If you’re ever concerned your pet may be overheating, seek veterinary care immediately.
Prevention and early action can save lives.
Stay cool and enjoy the warmer days safely 🏖
