📚 Do You Have a Feed Chart in Your Feed Room? 🐴
One thing I always recommend around horse properties is having a feed chart displayed clearly in the feed area.
I personally keep one because in an emergency, illness, injury, or even if I simply can’t get home in time, anyone can step in and confidently feed the horses correctly without guessing.
Every horse is different — some need supplements, some need more feed, some need less, and some have medications or special dietary needs.
A feed chart helps make sure nothing gets missed or mixed up.
Benefits of having one:
✔ Easy for anyone to follow
✔ Helps prevent incorrect feeding
✔ Keeps supplements and medications organised
✔ Useful for family, friends, staff, or agistment helpers
✔ Great for emergencies or unexpected situations
✔ Keeps routines consistent for the horses
Even a simple whiteboard or laminated sheet can make a huge difference in keeping things organised and safe 🐎✨
So… do you have a feed chart in your feed area, or do you just remember everything off the top of your head? 👀
