re you looking for a great Puppy Preschool? One that actually gives you and your puppy meaningful experiences and knowledge to know how to raise a calm and confident dog? At First Steps Puppy School we dont waste your time teaching behaviours you already know how to do - like Sit. We build confidence and communication first and foremost.

Well Week 5 of puppy class is done leaving only 1 more class in this block,

This week we put everything we have been learning into practice, The puppies were also introduced to my big dogs, learning to be calm, relaxed and respectful around other dogs.
Everyone was amazing and you can really tell all the hard work that is being put into their puppies.

Next week we put some more real life experiences into practice when we take the class to town.

Do you have a new puppy and looking for a great puppy preschool to kickstart your training experience? First Steps Puppy School is kicking off the next class on Sunday 26th April.
Classes are kept small on purpose, so that I can give you and your puppy the best personal learning experience I can.
Our classes are based on experiences designed to build bravery, curiosity and self confidence. Our aim is to build the special relationship between you and your puppy and set in place the basic building blocks for you to move forward with confidence into the future.

Why do people go to puppy school?
Alot want to socialise their puppy. The trouble is that socialising is not what most people think it is. When we socialise our puppy, we want them to remember they are with us and its the funnest place to be so they want to be with us. When puppies are encouraged to go to strangers, whether human or animal, and have a pleasant time, they are learning that there is value in going to strangers. Would you want your child doing this?
Your puppy definately needs to be happy and calm around other people and dogs but they should not find them more rewarding than you.
This is one of the reasons puppies,who we think are well socialised (meaning they have had a lot of positive inteactions with strangers) pull on a lead the moment they see a person or dog. Wehave inadvertently taught them to do this
Aways remember. You are either training or untraining your dog in every minute they are with you. So think carefully about what they are learning.

Our next Puppy Class starts on 26th April. We limit numbers specifically so you get the best experience and learning. Get in quick.

Our current class have just completed Week 4 and their confidence, calmness and relationship with their families is growing every week.
We have a combination of temperaments ranging from very high energy (drive) all the way down to calm and quite. Each puppy is now able to listen to, and love learning with their person.
And its not just in class. We teach families how to manage, raise and train their puppies in their home as well because everything starts at home.

Ive also discovered is tricky making sure I can give everyone personal attention as well as take photos!

Just a reminder,
If you have a puppy, or you know someone with a puppy who is under 17 weeks, please let them know that our new classes are starting on the 8th March.
These classes will be different to the normal puppy classes run by other organisations. In our class, you will get trainer tips and tricks to make your life easier raising your puppy. We go deep on what makes your puppy behave the way he does and give you the knowledge and skills to continue your training beyond the class.
