Meet Ted this beautiful Alaskan malamute pup who is 4th mths old. He came in today because he had a grass seed in his chest.

Our fabulous vet Alysha went to investigate Little Ted & found lots more grass seeds throughout his body but after quite some time… he woke up well and was happy to see his dad and go home.

How adorable are these beautiful little Ragdolls Kittens that come in today.
Four of them got vaccinated & microchipped and were very brave.

The owner took advantage of the 10% off vaccinations for cats, dogs & rabbits this month of November.

OMG lucky they all had homes or else I think a few of us girls where going to take them home.

Meet Miss Ruby

Ruby is a 11 year old aging gracefully boxer and she come in to have this lump removed from her chin.

Her lump is being sent away to see what it is.

But she is recovery well and she was a pleasure to have in the clinic.

After surgery she loved her food that much it’s on her nose.

Unfortunately due to staff shortages The Vet Group Portland & Heywood will be unable to provide you with their usual small animal emergency services this weekend.

We do have a large animal vet on call.

We suggest that you call the usual phone number, 55234900, if you are concerned that your pet requires urgent care and your case will be triaged.

We understand this is frustrating and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.

It’s that time of the year again, snakes are well and truly out and about!

Signs of a potential snake bite can be one or a combination of the following:
* Vomiting
* Dilated pupils
* Shaking/wobbly legs
* Lethargy
* Increased salivation
* Blood in urine
* Trouble breathing
* Pale gums

Sometimes after a snakebite dogs & cats can have a “false recovery” and will appear normal again. However they generally become critical only moments later.

If you have seen your pet with a snake or they are showing any of the signs listed above veterinary attention is needed ASAP!
