How do you know if your guppies are happy?

Many beginners ask this question. Healthy guppies always show these 3 signs:

Bright Colors
Healthy guppies show vibrant colors like red, blue, or orange. If the colors look dull, check water quality.

Active Swimming
Happy guppies are always exploring the tank and swimming around, not hiding in corners.

Fins Fully Open
A healthy guppy spreads its fins beautifully like a fan.

💡 Tip from Prestige Fin Aquatics:
Keep the water clean and stable. Regular water changes and good filtration keep guppies thriving.

Healthy Fish Start with Clean Water

Many people think fish die because of disease.

One of the first things every guppy keeper should learn is how to identify male and female guppies.

Male guppies are usually smaller but very colourful, while females are larger with shorter fins and softer colours.

Understanding this helps hobbyists maintain healthy breeding groups and a peaceful aquarium.

Did You Know? – Guppies Are Livebearers

Unlike many fish, guppies don’t lay eggs.
Female guppies give birth to live baby fish called fry.

A healthy female guppy can give birth to 20–60 babies at once!

This is why guppies are one of the most fascinating fish for beginners and breeders.

Sometimes I just sit quietly in front of the aquarium and watch the guppies swim.

No phone.
No noise.
Just the gentle movement of water and these tiny, beautiful lives.

Fish keeping is not only about tanks, filters, or food.
It teaches patience, responsibility, and respect for nature.

A small fish may look simple, but behind that beauty is a delicate life that depends on us to keep its world clean, calm, and healthy.

At Prestige Fin Aquatics, I’m learning every day — and I’m happy to share that journey with you all.

If you love aquariums, nature, and peaceful moments, you are always welcome here.

Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference in an aquarium.

When I first started keeping guppies, I thought floating plants were just for decoration. But after watching the fish for a while, I realised something interesting.

The guppies love swimming under them.
They feel safer, calmer, and more natural.

Floating plants also quietly help the tank by absorbing extra nutrients and improving water quality. And if baby fry appear one day, these plants become their little hiding forest.

Aquariums are not just about fish.
They are about creating a small peaceful ecosystem.

Every day I learn something new from these tiny creatures.

What does a healthy guppy really look like?

A strong guppy is easy to recognise once you know what to look for.

Clear eyes.
Bright natural colour.
Fully opened fins.
Active swimming behaviour.
No clamped tail. No damaged edges.

When water quality is stable, fish show confidence.
When the environment is stressed, fish show it immediately.

As breeders, we don’t just look at colour — we observe behaviour, structure, and health.

Good water creates good fish.
Simple as that.

Understanding pH in Your Aquarium ,

pH tells us how acidic or alkaline the water is.

Most guppies thrive between pH 6.8 – 7.8.

A stable pH is more important than a “perfect” number.
Sudden changes stress fish more than slightly high or low values.

Always test before adjusting anything.
Healthy water = Healthy fish.
