The £30 bird and the £300 vet bill

One of the strangest things about bird ownership is that the purchase price and the cost of care can be worlds apart.

A budgie might cost relatively little to bring home.

But veterinary medicine doesn’t become cheaper because the patient is tiny.

Avian medicine requires specialist knowledge, equipment and experience.

So before bringing home a £30 bird, it’s worth asking:

“Could I afford to care for this animal if something went wrong?”

Because the bird doesn’t know how much you paid for them.

They just know you’re their person.

PLEASE INSURE YOUR BIRDS SO THEY DONT HAVE TO SUFFER AND END UP INTO RESCUES BECAUSE YOU CANT AFFORD VET BILLS .A AVIAN VET IS VERY EXPENSIVE

Fang our galah would like you all to know he is very excited to have three other galahs to chat to.
Tomorrow I will post a photo.
Plus end of the month soon so a round up of all this months bird sits.
The I'm going to start changing my profile photo every week to a new bird that I have looked after in the 4 years I have been birdsitting.
So very greatful to have met you all. Never knew there was so many bird people in town.
