🐾 TWO IMPORTANT CHANGES TO YOUR GOLDEN WAVES BOOKINGS 🐾

With our move to our new booking system, PetBoost, you may notice a few changes when setting up your pet’s profile. Two of the biggest are keeping a card securely on file and providing your pet’s vaccination information.

We wanted to explain why these are important and why we’re asking everyone to complete their profiles before we begin booking for 2027. 🤎

💳 CARD ON FILE

You’ll now be asked to securely add a card to your account.

We completely understand that entering card details can feel a little daunting, so we want to reassure you that Golden Waves does not store or have access to your full card details.

Petboost uses Stripe for payment processing. Card details are securely stored through Stripe rather than by our salon, and Petboost states that its payment system is secured to PCI Level 1 standards.

For a small appointment-based business like ours, having a card securely on file is incredibly important.

Every appointment reserves a stylist’s time specifically for your dog. When an appointment is missed or cancelled at short notice, that time often cannot be filled, while wages, rent and the everyday costs of running our salon continue.

Having a card on file allows us to manage our cancellation and no-show policies consistently and fairly, rather than our team having to chase outstanding payments.

🐶 VACCINATION INFORMATION

We’re also asking that your dog’s vaccination information is kept up to date within their profile.

This isn’t simply another box to tick, it’s an important part of protecting every dog in our care.

Golden Waves is a free-play salon. Suitable dogs are able to enjoy supervised social time rather than spending their entire visit separated from other dogs. Because our dogs can be in closer contact with one another, having current health and vaccination information is incredibly important for maintaining a safe environment.

📅 AND THEN… 2027!

Once your Petboost profile is fully completed, including your required pet information, vaccination details and card on file, we can begin organising your 2027 appointments! 🎉

We know many of you have been patiently waiting for our 2027 books to open, so completing your profile now will help us make the booking process as smooth as possible.

These changes are ultimately about creating a safer environment for your dogs, protecting the time of our small team, reducing administration and allowing us to spend more time doing what we love! Looking after your dogs. 🤎🐾

Our 2027 client applications will open through Petboost, with more information coming soon about availability and how to apply.

There’s nothing you need to do just yet! Keep an eye on your messages between now and 1 October for instructions on accessing your new account.

Your existing information has been securely migrated across, and we’ll guide you through anything that needs confirming.

📏 Service Package & Size Assessment Update 🐾

As our salon continues to grow, we’re making an important update to ensure every dog is booked into the correct service package and has the appropriate amount of time allocated for their groom.

Over the coming months, we’ll be reassessing each dog’s size using a more consistent process. Our primary measurement will be height, while also taking into consideration:
• Weight
• Coat type
• Coat length and density
• The time required to complete their groom

We’ve found that over the years, some dogs have simply been categorised by eye. As they’ve grown or changed coat, some are actually requiring much more time than their current package allows. This can impact appointment times throughout the day and isn’t fair to either your dog or the clients booked after you.

To reassure everyone, we are not increasing our prices for the new financial year or next year. This update is simply about ensuring every dog is in the correct service size and package based on the time, care and work required. Some dogs won’t change at all, while others may move into a different size category to better reflect the service they receive.

Our goal is to have a fair and consistent system across the board, so every client is assessed using the same criteria and every dog receives the time they deserve.

Thank you for your understanding as we work through these assessments. We truly appreciate your support as we continue improving our systems and providing the highest standard of care for every dog that visits Golden Waves. 🤍✨

✨ ONE-OFF GROOMING APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE ✨

While Golden Waves is currently fully booked for ongoing grooming schedules and we’re not taking on new full-time clients, we currently have a small number of one-off appointments available! 🤍

These appointments are open to both new and existing clients who may need a groom but don’t require an ongoing booking schedule with us.

This is also a great opportunity if you’ve been wanting to try Golden Waves, meet our team and experience one of our grooms without needing to commit to a regular schedule.

Please keep in mind that these are one-off appointments only and unfortunately do not guarantee ongoing availability or a permanent position on our books.
