With all the recent rain, it’s a good time to focus on hoof care during the cooler, wetter months 🐴

Horses spending long periods in wet sand, muddy paddocks, or consistently damp conditions can be more prone to hoof issues through winter. A few simple management practices can make a big difference:

- Daily hoof picking, removing packed mud and manure
- Allowing hooves time out of wet ground where possible
- Maintaining regular farrier schedules
- Keeping stable bedding clean and dry

Hoof oils can still play a role during winter as well - it simply depends on the conditions and how your horse’s hooves are responding.
