Meet Valentine 💌 This gorgeous boy was previously medicated for grooming and even still it was a stressful experience for him.
The first visit I had with him, he would growl and try to attack the clippers just being near him, and he would pant in distress from them being turned on next to him.
To address this intense fear, we started with making the salon a safe space for him - with regular weekly visits where he would just be with me and my pups. No grooming.
Once he was tail wagging excited to arrive, we began working on the grooming. It took a few visits of just baths and trimming him with only scissors to build his trust.
This week he let me clip him without any fuss, standing there calmly letting it happen. I was SO incredibly proud of him and how far he’s come. 🤎
