Hi Sasha’s Pet Treats peeps… I’m Victoria, Sasha’s mum. Self proclaimed her biggest advocate and supporter and below is a post taken from my page about my recent interaction with NDIA.
I know Sasha’s Pet Treats has a lot of supporters across different networks, so I’m asking for your help in sharing the information below.
Families are receiving phone calls from NDIS planners and the inconsiderate language (not profanity) that is being used along with the lack of empathy and an awareness for their own policies is disturbing.
Please read and share

For family and friends in the disability community—those who advocate for, have guardianship of or simply love and support our family members—please take a moment to read this.
This affects all of us and our voices matter.
Did you know that if you receive a phone call directly from an NDIS planner, it may not be recorded?
That means there may be no official audio record of what was said— and in my situation, not even case notes.
Response below from my FOI request to NDIA after a phone call on Saturday 23 May 2026 at 11.00am.
'The NCC undertook targeted searches of the participant’s PACE account and associated records.
This included: • Reviewing the PACE account for any contact records on 23 May 2026 at approximately 11:00AM (AWST). These searches confirmed that no NCC contacts were recorded for the relevant account or phone numbers within the requested timeframe. Additionally, a Freedom of Information (FOI) search was conducted, which did not identify any relevant documents.
While the NCC identified that an outbound call was made by a NDIA planner, calls involving planners are not recorded and therefore no transcripts are created or retained. Only calls to and from the National Contact Centre are recorded and as noted above, no such calls relevant to your request were identified.'
Does this mean that the call advising me of the decline of her Plan Change request did not happen?
Has the 2 weeks of being stressed and worrying about what this means for Sasha all been for nothing?
From now on I will be requesting that all phone calls – incoming or outgoing – be recorded. So when I am accused of lacking in my parental responsibility (bear in mind, I lost parental responsibility when she turned 18) and being asked to justify why Sasha deserves to be cared for etc, I will have proof.
This process by the NDIA should not be acceptable—especially when the conversation itself demonstrated a concerning lack of empathy.
When interactions of this significance are not recorded, it removes transparency and accountability from a process that profoundly affects people’s lives.
In my opinion, this raises serious questions about standards of care and may amount to negligent practice.
I never thought I would be using this page to highlight such an issue, but I feel in this particular climate the more people that know, the better prepared they will be.
Thank you..
