This is one of Lucy's Kimara cats who has found himself in rescue. He has been treated by the vets and will soon be looking for a home. If you would like an older Russian as a pet why not contact Impound Feline Rescue and see if he might be a new friend for you. Mouse deserves a loving, local home to spend the rest of his life. Such a sweet boy.
UPDATE ON MOUSE
Some of you will remember Mouse the Russian Blue.
Mouse was surrendered to us through no fault of his own, because his owner was moving overseas. We previously posted that we were searching for a foster carer, and had an overwhelming response after our post was shared in a Russian Blue cat fancier group on Facebook 💙
Well, Mouse is now in care with one of our admin (as of yesterday evening), and will be assessed by our vet later today. Once we know more about his condition, we’ll be able to choose a foster carer from the many who applied to place Mouse with until he is hopefully well enough to be adopted.
Mouse is blind in one eye and has very limited vision in his other, and is mostly deaf. He has polyps in his ears that extend down into the ear canal and we aren’t sure what impact this is having on his quality of life, or if they can be removed. But we will do everything we can to give him the best chance at a pain-free, happy life.
