Happy Polar Bear Week!

Now You Know!: Polar Bears (Ursus maritimus) live at the top of the Arctic food chain. They need sea ice to travel, mate, and hunt seals. Seals need sea ice to rest on and bear their young. Sea ice supports the Arctic food chain, just as soil supports a forest food chain.
