Was definitely a little bit nervous having my first show back in the same arena that I broke my back in four months ago 😬
But Midget Queen Contessa has started her season in firing form, despite being a bit miffed that I was making her do small jumps - but my nerves definitely proved it was the right decision for me! 😥
So pleased that we managed to be super speedy - definitely not our strength! - to take the win in the always super-competitive Amateur Series class 🏆
Thank you to Equineworld and Jumping Western Australia for the generous sponsorship of these classes, and to super-coach Rory Hovell, with his ‘special needs’ girls taking 🥇🥈🥉🙈🤣
Last night we were dressed head-to-toe by the incredible KC Equestrian Wear, in:
🎩 Samshield MissSheild ShadowGlossy helmet
🧥 Samshield Alix Glossy show coat
👖 Samshield competition breeches
👢 De Niro custom field boots
🎀 EQUESTRIAN STOCKHOLM saddle pad
As always, it wouldn’t be a show with Contessa without at least one hiccup - last night just before remounting for the jump-off, she managed to shake her bridle off and get free (anyone who knows her know this is not ideal), in the warm-up area, in the dark, with no one in the immediate vicinity to help poor Shelley Maree Alexander 🙈 quick thinking from super mum who managed to get a scarf around her neck before she disappeared into the distance to never be seen again… and to Sophie Hewitt for helping out when she realised what was going down 🤣
Bring on the final day today, in the torrential rain and gale force winds 💦🌪️
