🌟 ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL ATC TRACKING TRIAL! 🌟

What a fantastic day for our latest tracking trial! 🐾💛

We were blessed with perfect weather again, making for a beautiful day out in the bush.

A huge thank you to our wonderful panel of judges:

We had 10 entries, with 5 successful passes! 🎉👏

Congratulations to everyone who took part, whether you came away with a pass or gained valuable experience on the day. Tracking is certainly a team effort, and every track brings something new to learn.

A massive thank you also goes to our judges, tracklayers, stewards, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes to make the trial happen. We simply couldn't run these events without you! 💛

IMPORTANT TRIAL INFORMATION - BALLOTS AND TRACK UPGRADES

Due to the increasing number of entries at our trials, together with judge availability and other resource restrictions, we may need to conduct ballots for tests at some of our future trials.

Balloting is not something we do lightly. We want to ensure our judges are not overworked and can be utilised to the best of their abilities, while also ensuring our trials run safely and fairly.

With this in mind, we would like to make sure everyone is familiar with General (V) – Thirty (30) Day Suspension and General (W) – Balloting found on page 9 of the rules.

General (V) – Thirty (30) Day Suspension

General (V) states that a dog which has failed on two consecutive occasions may be subject to a 30-day suspension from competing at a Tracking Trial. However, this suspension may only take effect when the Affiliate conducting the trial has had to ballot for the available tests.

Importantly, if an Affiliate does not have to conduct a ballot, the 30-day suspension must not be invoked under any circumstances.

General (W) – Balloting

General (W) states that should a club need to restrict entries due to resource constraints, it may ballot for the tests available.

Separate ballots may be conducted for tests in different titles. For example:
• A ballot for tests 1-3
• A ballot for tests 4-5
• A ballot for test 6
• A ballot for tests 7-8
• A ballot for tests 9-10

Therefore, if we do need to ballot at an upcoming trial, please be aware that the relevant balloting and suspension provisions may apply.

We encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with these rules, particularly as entries continue to grow and ballots may become necessary from time to time.

Track Upgrades

Please ensure that you notify the Trial Secretary of any potential track upgrade requests at the time of entering. This advanced notice allows us time to assess the feasibility of your upgrade.

If you enter a tracking trial that is held after ATC’s entries have closed an upgrade is not guaranteed. Please contact the Trial Secretary before entries have closed to advise that an upgrade may be required.

Any request for a track upgrade will be considered at the discretion of the club and judges, taking into consideration judge availability, track requirements and other trial resources.

ATC will not accept upgrades between titles after entries have closed.

For example:

• TD3 to TDX4
• TDX6 to TCH7
• TCH8 to TGRCH9

There are also certain upgrades within a title that ATC will not accept after entries have closed, including:

• TD1 to TD2
• TDX5 to TDX6

This is due to the adjustments required to meet the specific tests criteria.

Please remember: If there is any possibility that your dog may require an upgrade, tell the Trial Secretary when you enter – do not wait until after entries have closed.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure our trials are fair, safe and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Once again, Marijiniup delivered the goods on Sunday for our third tracking trial of 2026 🌞🐾

In stark contrast to the previous day’s rain, wind and even a touch of hail, we were treated to beautiful blue skies and sunshine. While the handlers soaked it up, I’m fairly sure the dogs tackling the higher-level tracks (with those lovely 2.5+ hour delays 😅) would have happily traded it all for a bit of that cooler, wetter weather!

It was fantastic to again welcome some new faces—something we always love to see—and, as always, base camp was full of laughs, great conversations, and plenty of dog talk.

We had a mixed bag of results across our 10 entries, with 6 passes, 1 new Tracking Dog Excellent title, and the club celebrating its 2nd Tracking Grand Champion title 🏆👏

A huge thank you to our tireless judges—Karren McCluskey, Kathlene Oliver, Rachel Evans and Sarah Pemberton—your time, effort and expertise are so appreciated by us all.

Another great day all round, with everyone heading home having made new memories with friends—and, of course, our dogs 💛🐕

This morning, our members wrapped up training a little early to come together for a well earned catch-up and morning tea — and what a great way to spend it!

It was fantastic to have so many members there, especially our three Life Members — our Club Patron, Honey Gross-Richardson, our Training Coordinator, Karren McCluskey, and the recently retired (but never far away!) Di Bolger. We’re so lucky to have such an incredible group of people guiding and supporting our club.

A big congratulations also to our 2026 beginners on completing their 6-week Introduction to Tracking course under the watchful eyes of trainers Rachel, Desley, Jade and Maggie. What a fantastic and enthusiastic bunch of new tracking teams we have this year — we’re all excited to see you out there growing and developing your skills throughout the season.

With a mix of familiar faces and new members, it was the perfect chance to connect, share a few laughs, and, of course, talk all things tracking.

This is what ATC club life is all about 🐕‍🦺🌲

Yesterday ATC Base Camp was buzzing with activity. It was another beautiful day out at Mariginiup, and everyone arrived early to help set up.

With 12 entries, 4 judges, 10 passes, 4 titles, and 2 new Tracking Champions, it certainly proved to be an eventful trial. Add in motorbike, dog, fox, emu, and even horse track disturbances, and it made for a very interesting day!

It was fantastic to see both new and returning faces at yesterday's trial. Whether you were trialling, judging, tracklaying, or there to lend support, we hope you all had a great day.

A big thank you to our judges—Paula Wilkins, Rachel Evans, and Sarah Pemberton—and a special thank you to Karren McCluskey, who once again stepped in to assist with judging due to the number of higher-level entries. Not only did she judge, but she also trialled and passed with the gorgeous, joyful Tully.

On Sunday the 31st May we held our first tracking trial of 2026—what an absolutely wild and blustery way to kick off the season!

We had four teams take on their tracks, and despite the wind and rain, they all did an incredible job. It was fantastic to see a few new faces at base camp, which we always love, and with three out of four teams passing, there was plenty to celebrate over lunch.

As always, the camaraderie and friendships at base camp are what make these days so special. Pass or fail, we’re all there to support each other—and that’s what it’s all about 💛🖤

What an incredible day! 🐾

ATC held our annual Scent Work Trial on Sunday 3rd May, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who helped make it such a success.

A huge thank you to our wonderful judges — Karren McCluskey (Masters Interiors), Breanna Clancy (Excellent Interiors), and Ben Allen (Novice & Advanced Vehicles). Your time, expertise, and support are so appreciated.

To our amazing volunteers, and everyone who stepped up on the day to lend a hand — thank you! Every little bit of help made a difference and kept the day running smoothly.

To all our competitors, thank you for supporting our club and for your patience throughout the day. We truly appreciate each and every one of you.
