🎃👻 Halloween Pet Safety! 🐾🩷

With Halloween just around the corner, it’s a great time to remember that while it can be lots of fun for us humans, it can sometimes be a little overwhelming or even dangerous for our precious furbabies!

With trick-or-treaters knocking, doors opening, spooky decorations and plenty of tempting treats around, there are a few extra things we can do to keep our furry family members safe.

🐾 A few little reminders:

🎃 Keep your furbabies safely indoors, away from the excitement of trick-or-treaters.

🍬 Keep chocolate, lollies and other Halloween treats well out of reach, as many can be toxic to our pets.

🕯️ Be mindful of candles, decorations and anything they might chew, swallow or knock over.

👻 If dressing your furbaby up, make sure their costume is comfortable, pet-safe and doesn’t restrict their movement, breathing or vision. Never leave them unattended in a costume.

🔔 Keep things calm by creating a safe, quiet space away from doorbells, visitors and spooky noises.

🚪 Be extra careful with gates and doors opening throughout the evening to prevent any sneaky escapes.

🧡 And let’s not forget our precious native wildlife! Please avoid dangerous decorations such as fake spider webbing, which can cause serious injuries and even death to our wildlife.

Most importantly, remember that not every furbaby enjoys Halloween, and that’s absolutely okay! Their comfort, safety and wellbeing should always come first.

Let’s make sure Halloween is full of treats and happy memories, without any unnecessary scares or trips to the emergency vet!

Already half way through my 10 nights with my 2 fave boys and I just had to put together a little reel of the fun and love we have had together already 🥹 gosh I am going to miss you two beyond words! Now to the second half and more beautiful memories and fun together 🥰🐶😺🐾🩷💙

🩷🐾 A little reminder for all our KVC pawrents, especially those new to the KVC family! 🐾🩷

For all sits, clients are required to supply enough food, medication and any other essentials their precious furbabies need for the duration of their stay.

We completely understand that for longer sits, it can be tricky to judge exactly how much you’ll need, and we’re always happy to help organise extra supplies if needed. However, having everything ready from the start is always best to ensure your furbabies have everything they need while you’re away. 🥰

Thank you to all our wonderful KVC families for your understanding and support. We appreciate you trusting us with your precious fur, feather and scaly babies! 💗🐾

For those who have been following the Dogs' Refuge Home WA INC Home Open over the weekend, I am SO excited to share that they raised over $45,000!! 😍🎉🐶

How absolutely incredible is that?! What an amazing achievement and such a wonderful amount of money that can go directly towards helping, caring for and supporting all the precious doggy furbabies in their care. 🐾🩷

A HUGE congratulations to everyone involved in making this event such a success! Every dollar makes a difference, and it’s so heartwarming to see such incredible support for these beautiful souls who deserve all the love and care in the world. 🥰🐶🩷

Aww Gavin! How I miss you so much 🥹 this was the last time I got to sit for you as well. But Georgia has been lucky enough a couple of times since then and you’ve got Karlee booked for a couple more. Fingers crossed dates align and I’ll be back with you sometime next year 🤞🏻🥰🐶🐾🩷💙

Well, today was my twice-yearly hair appointment, which always seems to line up perfectly with my stays with Myles and Beau! 😂🩷

My hairdresser is also one of my childhood friends (our mums are best friends, so we pretty much grew up together 🥰), and over my last two visits, we’d been slowly and subtly adding a little pink to my hair. This time, I said, “Let’s just go crazy!” 😂🩷 So we added MORE pink and went a little lighter overall to freshen things up and get ready for summer! ☀️💇‍♀️💖

As always, I walked out feeling SO happy with my hair! She is honestly one of the best hairdressers AND one of the loveliest people I know! 🥰🩷

So, if anyone south of the river is on the lookout for a new hairdresser, I couldn’t recommend her enough! Give her a hit-up — you won’t be disappointed! 💇‍♀️🩷✨ Hair by SQ

From 1 October, we will be accepting donations of good quality bric-a-brac, books, clothing and toys to help make this year's Wet Nose Day bigger and better than ever!

Plants can be donated from the week before and cakes the day prior to Wet Nose Day.

Please note: We kindly ask that donations are clean and in good, sellable condition. Unfortunately, we cannot sell broken, stained or damaged items, and disposal costs take precious funds away from the cats and kittens in our care. 🐾

So save the date, bring the family and come along for a day full of fun, bargains, food and plenty of feline goodness! 😻🎉 Every dollar raised will help change the lives of cats and kittens in need.
