πŸ’₯🐾 At Controlled Chaos, safety comes first – even in the middle of all the action!
That’s why we always have a catcher ready, just in case a dog doesn’t quite make it over the wall.

The best part? Our dogs know they can trust us – which means safe, smooth (and sometimes very cuddly πŸ˜…) trips up and down the wall.

It’s all about building confidence, trust, and having a whole lot of fun along the way! πŸ™ŒπŸ•

What a week it’s been! πŸ’₯ Controlled Chaos had a massive run with both the Dowerin and Beverley Shows keeping us on our toes – the dogs gave it their all and the crowds were incredible πŸ‘πŸ•β€πŸ¦Ί

This weekend we’re excited to be part of the York Agricultural Show on Saturday πŸŽͺ It’s always a great day out, and we’d love to know – who’s planning on coming along? Let us know in the comments so we can keep an eye out for you πŸ‘‹

The forecast is looking a little wet 🌧️, but the show must go on! We’ll be making sure both dogs and people are kept safe and comfortable throughout the day. Rain or shine, it’s all about coming together and enjoying what these shows are all about – community, fun, and of course, some high-flying dogs πŸš€πŸΎ

Looking forward to catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones at York!

For those on my Facebook whom I haven't spoken to in my pure admiration of events over the weekend.

This weekend Kathleen Smith and myself and my kids attended the Australian sleddog sport association nationals competition.

Kate entered in the none competitive touring class with blaze neither have ever competed let alone knew what they where doing more then having fun.
Kate and Blaze where coming 4th in the joint touring class made of 1 dog teams and 2 dog teams in both scooter and bike.
On the last day Blaze had enough and decided she knew a short cut home causing Kate to have a stake. As per usual she got up kept going and finished the race strong.
Both blaze and Kate are ok sore but safe.

Walker and I entering the novice race for our second ever race and having a very relaxed attitude to training was definitely a risk.
Our competition where amazing they have put in a lot of work and where definitely faster then us. Over two days they where winning by 18 seconds coming in to the last day.
We went put knowing it was going to be a huge effort to catch that amount of time up.
Unfortunately they had a vehicle malfunction and had a very scary crash all safe thankfully.
And subsequently we were able to make up the time.
All dogs and handlers safe thankfully.

The children had a ball competiting in peewee and constantly thought they won.

Thanks again to Kathy Boyle Valley Equine Bodywork for keeping my dogs massaged and moving during there competition and fitting us in on Sunday.
Thanks TuffRock Australia Tuffrock K9 Steve Hurley your products have my dogs competitive in a national competition and being very competitive 6 weeks of sports has definitely had a toll on us all but the dogs are still keen to keep going.

Thanks to all my friends and family for there constant support.

Ps thanks Kirby Reaves for always helping and loaning us gear scooters training advice and convincing me we can do it even though I am a doubter hater you have made me see my dogs abilities for what they are truly amazing.

Videos will be posted when I have received and had time to edit out any mistakes ;)

This is my usual appreciation post if you are a friend family or anyone who follows my dogs progress please read to the end.

Firstly what we have done as a family over the last 3 weeks is stupid, crazy, moronic.
In saying that I have had some of my biggest fans and best family by my side. Kathleen Smith your my rock and have helped beyond words what you and the kids have done has been extraordinary.

Now the fun parts.

Thank you TuffRock Australia Tuffrock K9 Steve Hurley your products have kept my team in absolute tip top shape there coats are shiny there bodies are A1. In absolute peak fitness my dogs haven't missed a day of competition ever doing things that we have never done. Can not recommend your products enough have used it for years before we started our business relationship you have always supported us.

Valley Equine Bodywork Kathy Boyle you have always adjusted our dogs massaged them after most competitions and before most of our big adventures our dogs bodies absolute wouldn't be able to do what they do without your help. Even when I rock up on no notice you accommodate my crazy schedule.
You have supported us from the beginning had faith we could do better and have pushed us to strive for greatness.
You have always been an ear when we wanted to cheer or cry from success or failure. Thank you for your friendship and your massages the dogs need this as there ritual and definitely know we are going to compete if they see you.

Now for the news the competitions the excitement.
Over the last three weeks my family my selected dogs and myself have ventured across the country in search of competitions and success.
Our starting point for our adventure was Casterton Kelpie Association hosting the Australian Kelpie Muster where we entered Walker in the triathlon and Blaze in the highjump.
We know Walker succeeds at anything he does however we didn't expect the results we got.
We went knowing we were good competition for the high jump and just hoped for his abilities to shine through for the rest.
Boy did this dog prove his abilities.
We came equal 8th in the 50 metre sprint won the dog highjump and came 7th in the hill climb. For a result of second in the triathlon. For my wa friends it isn't a hill it is a flaming mountain.
Blaze unfortunately couldn't perform at the highjump as she had a slip on the astroturf and a nasty tumble. Both dogs pulled up really well after this event and the travel and were ready for more. Total distance travelled to this event was 3100kms.

We then spent just under a week in Sydney visiting family and the select friends who could fit us in their busy schedule on short notice.
We had planned to spend two weeks in Sydney and actually have more time unfortunately more dog sports and more crazy distances were to come.

Kirby Reaves I need to thank you for coping my annoyance.
You my friend have opened my eyes to a sport I have wanted to participate in but never knew where to start.
Last year you annoyed me into coming and trying cani cross. My worst decision ever.
Walker and you ran really well day 1 Walker decided he had no idea who you are and what you wanted him to do day 2 where he waited for my fat arse to catch you before he started running.
During the lunch break you tried Walker and Blaze on the scooter first time in harness behind a scooter or pulling full stop. And you where very impressed by there efforts and this is where the the fun starts the determination to learn a sport made for fit people. The strive to get better and more confidence in my dogs abilities.
You sent me a message saying make sure you try come to muckn1 first camp Race meet of the sledding season held last weekend at Mukinbudin.
So I said yeah yeah what ever. And didn't think anything of it. After the dogs pulling up really well from casterton Kate and I had a chat about the chances of making the long trip back to WA a week early to go have our first competitive run in dryland sledding.
And to say that I am impressed is an understatement Walker excelled yet again he ran straight he ran hard and he ran fast.
He guided me through the track like he had run it before. In our first ever night run mind you, may as well thrown another curve ball at us.
Blaze after never sledding on her own no training in sledding as I can't run in 2 competitive classes as a novice I entered her in touring a for fun class.
She did amazing the track was perfect distance for her (shortened) 1.9 kms if memory serves me correctly.
She pulled most of the way started hard finished hard and didn't interupt the other competition to much when they were faster.
Both my dogs showed me why they are both champions in there own way.
Walker won the novice class for our first camping race average 23.8kms an hour and Blaze unfortunately due to my family being sick me coming down with it worse during the comp I withdrew her on the second day to focus on the competitive class. 3400 kms travelled for this event.
This weekend I picked saxon up Walker's brother and dropped him and Walker off to Kirby for a competition again in dryland sledding to which walker and Kirby won cani cross long track. And Saxon and Dare won two dog bike Jor. Another amazing success

I would like to thank for all the help and support in the trip.
Janet Hill wasn't expecting you at casterton but boy did you help with the kids keeping them entertained while we were competiting.
Virginia Smith and dad for looking after the kids and our dogs and us during the competition making sure we had everything we needed. Also for allowing us to crash for the first half of our Sydney trip.
Mel Honey Nick Barker we planned this trip knowing each other was going but it was an absolute ball spending the 4 days with you guys competiting with you guys and helping each other out.
Sarina Laurin for allowing us to train sporadically during summer dryland sledding and often just using her dam to run the dogs. I will not forget her amazing parents who have treated Kate myself Raine and Lincoln like family always catering for us always looking after the children they are amazing.
Roslind Smith and Don for putting up with us for the second half of our trip. Even if the dogs slept inside one night shhhhhhhhhhh.
Martina Kerr for looking after our chickens while we are away. And an ear to chew with our success.
Natasha Allison for looking after our house and bunnies.
Kate's parents for looking after the house and pets.
Lauren Ferguson for housing phoenix and treating her like a queen she is and also for allowing me the privilege of looking after her amazing dog Maud after she had finished her showing titles. Our new dog.
Emerald Mckelvie for taking deja on as her new dog and always helping at events if she is free.

Total distance travelled 9000kms

If you have read this far thanks heaps for your support and look forward to posting photos when I have saved them all in another post
