Guide Dogs WA is proud to offer a unique opportunity that pairs specially selected Companion Dogs with individuals who can benefit from a furry friendโs love and companionship within the home. Trained in basic obedience and leash skills, Companion Dogs have the capability of improving wellbeing and quality of life.
These remarkable dogs are more than pets; theyโre skilled companions capable of:
โข Offering unwavering friendship and company
โข Providing a comforting presence in times of need
Please Note: Companion Dogs, while highly trained, do not have public access rights like Guide Dogs or Assistance Dogs.

Our Companion Dog program criteria includes:
โข Adults and children with a disability or illness.
โข Those people who can demonstrate the ability to care for a dog, including covering financial costs for food, medical care, bedding, and toys.
โข Individuals willing to provide a safe, loving home and agree to have the dog live indoors.
โข Meets home assessment and handling requirements as assessed by Guide Dogs WA
Please note: A fee will be incurred for the purchase and placement of a Companion Dog.
