Spay It Forward by WA Pet Project We help pet owners experiencing significant financial hardship access subsidised desexing and microchipping services throughout WA.

Spay It Forward is a program run by WA Pet Project* that provides West Australian residents with access to subsidised sterilisation and microchipping for their pet cats and dogs through partnerships with veterinary practices around WA. Spay It Forward is WA's longest-running desexing program in Western Australia. Spay It Forward program does not require the presence of a litter to apply. To apply

for the program you must be:
- A resident of Western Australia;
- An owner over 18 years old; and

🐾 Saving Strays, Helping New Pet Owners and the Community 🐾

A big heartfelt thank you to Sanford Veterinary Clinic for desexing and microchipping Freddie Fourpaws, a community stray who now has a safer and brighter future. 💛🐱

Did you know that around 18% of cat applications to our program over the past 10 months have been from people wanting to keep local strays safe and at home with them?

Helping strays stay with the people who care for them keeps them:

📣🐾 Calling all vet industry partners and animal welfare colleagues! 🐾📣

We’re excited to share that Spay It Forward will be presenting at the One Welfare Symposium on Saturday, November 22 🌏

We’ll be speaking about our on-ground experiences delivering a state-wide desexing program and how our work aligns with the One Welfare approach — supporting pets, the people who love them, and the wider WA community. 🐶💛🌏

We’re honoured to be presenting alongside our community partner Veterinary and Community Care 🩺💚 Thank you for the invitation and collaboration!

Families north of the river, come along to the Hepburn Centre this Wednesday, 5 November (today), for a special community day full of helpful services for both people and pets! 💛

🕚 11am – 12 noon

🐾🙌🐕Thank you, SavourLife! 🐕🙌🐾

Thanks to SavourLife’s incredible $20,000 Community Desexing Grant, 118 dogs across WA — from Geraldton to Mt Barker and everywhere in between — have now been desexed! 🌟

Desexing those 118 dogs has prevented an estimated 708 puppies from being born into potential suffering and has saved pet owners tens of thousands of dollars in costs 💛🐾

Beyond desexing, this grant ensured each dog received high-quality veterinary care — including microchipping (if needed), post-operative pain relief, and follow-up checks to make sure every recovery was smooth and every owner supported ✨

Owning a desexed and microchipped dog also reduces council registration fees and ensures owners meet WA’s Dog Act requirements — while helping dogs live longer, healthier lives so families can enjoy more years together 💛🐶

We can’t thank SavourLife enough for their generosity and for believing in our mission to help people and pets across WA🌾
