GRASS SEEDS. Over the past several weeks, we’ve treated many pets for grass seeds. We’ve pulled them from stomachs, throats, ears, noses and cut them out where they have buried under the skin. These sharp seeds easily pe*****te tissue and their wispy ends make it impossible for them to travel backwards. They just keep burrowing deeper forwards. Grass seeds are always an issue in Perth between September and February. Please keep your pets away from these grasses, and mow your back yards if you have these there. If your pet has long fur, ideally cut it short and check paws after every walk.
