MDBA registered under LunaAyla as Ayla Mini Dachshunds & specialising in our favourite pattern… DAPPLE also known as MERLE 🧬
The dapple pattern has always held a special place in our hearts especially as our OG boy Luna is a black and tan (silver) dapple and he is where our love for snags began.
No two dapples are ever the same, making each puppy beautifully unique with its own one-of-a-kind markings. It’s a coat pattern we absolutely adore and we’re looking forward to incorporating it into each of our future litters.
As always, health, DNA testing, temperament, and correct conformation will remain our highest priorities. Those foundations will never change. But with that in mind, once Pepsi and Sprite are old enough and have completed all of their health testing, the plan is for every pairing moving forward (with the exception of any of Snoopy’s litters) to include one dapple parent, allowing us to continue producing stunning, healthy dapple puppies, while maintaining the quality we strive for.
A little fun fact: two dapple dogs should never be bred together. Breeding two dapples can result in “double dapple” puppies, which have a significantly increased risk of serious health issues, including vision and hearing impairments. That’s why responsible breeders always pair a dapple with a non-dapple, ensuring the beautiful dapple pattern can be enjoyed without compromising the wellbeing of the puppies. This means we will continue to also produce our gorgeous classics like chocolate/tan & black/tan.
We are incredibly excited for this next chapter at LunaAyla Mini Dachshunds. While our love for the dapple gene is always growing, our commitment to producing healthy, well structured, DNA tested puppies will always come first. We can’t wait to share our next chapter with you all and introduce the next generation of unique little LunaAyla bred pups!
