Aquatic Pet Penrith was built in 2006 and is one of the original shop fronts still existing since the opening of the east wing in Westfield Penrith. We are a member of the PIAA (pet industry association of Australia) which means we must follow the PIAA National Code of Practice and Code of Ethics to provide quality standards for our animals whilst they are in our care. It is mandatory that we comp

ly with the code to continue to be a PIAA member. Not only do we specialise in aquatic pets, but all of our staff is knowledgeable in the care and maintenance of dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, small animals and creepy crawlies. We offer affordably low prices on your pet care needs such as pet food, beds, treats, waste facilities, cleaning products, animal enclosures, medications and more. We are committed to supplying new and exciting ways of ensuring maximum enrichment to your pet. It is a goal of ours to always provide you with the most updated information, and we are always willing to go searching for the best answers for your questions. All of the staff hired at Aquatic Pet has spent time studying various certificates, such as vet nursing, care of non-venomous reptiles, animal studies and companion animals. We are animal lovers and have excelled at providing the best environment for your future pets while they are in the store. Our overall experience and knowledge of domestic animals and they’re welfare exceeds over 20 years in the industry. We pay close attention to detail which can be seen in the presentation of the store and its enclosures. A question we frequently get asked by pet enthusiasts - "where do our animals come from?" At Aquatic Pet we are proud to tell you that the cats and dogs you see in our store will only ever be rescues that are looking for a new family. An initiative that we implemented back in June 2014 in the hope to reduce unwanted pregnancies, puppy factories and backyard breeders. All of which contribute to a large number of cats and dogs killed every day. We work closely with rescue groups such as Friendly K9, B&B, Angel rescue and more - some of which offer lifetime guarantees in regards to rehoming. Our next target is to have all our other animals in store follow suit. The quality of service we provide at Aquatic Pet will make your experience with us an enjoyable one. We love to hear all your stories because we know you love your pets just as much as we do. IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING NATIVE ANIMAL KEEPER LICENCE!

From Monday June 30th 2025, all online applications will no longer be processed immediately, this includes both those applying for their license for the first time as well as those needing to renew or upgrade their license. The processing times for these applications may now take up to a maximum of 28 days.

We understand and apologise for the inconvenience this causes all our current and new reptile parents, however these new rules and regulations are unfortunately out of our control and have been enforced state wide across New South Wales from NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service due to the increase in import and export licenses being used to facilitate the interstate movement of native animals for exploitation in organised illegal wildlife trafficking.

It's nearly that time of year again when the sky fills up with fireworks and sparkles as people get ready to welcome in the New Year.

While it's a time for celebration, it's important to remember that the furry, feathered or scaly members of our family find this time of year stressful and scary.

Therefore we have put together some helpful little tips to help keep them safe and calm this New Year's Eve.

~ If possible bring all outdoor pets inside
~ Breathable blankets over cages to help muffle loud bangs
~ Extra bedding and hiding areas if they do get scared
~ Have plenty of food and water available
~ Make sure to check on them often & offer comfort
~ Keeping the TV or radio on to help keep them distracted

On behalf of the management & staff at Aquatic Pet we'd just like to take a moment to wish all our customers and their families a safe & Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

It's been an eventful 2024 and we can't thank both our regular and new customers enough for their ongoing support. We look forward to helping you with all pet needs, whether it's the scaley, feathered or furry kind in 2025!

We are only closed on Christmas day and New Years Day, however if you need to reach us on those days please feel free to message our page and we will do our best to get back to you on the day.

This week one of our staff members decided she needed a new home and climbed in the front tank.
We figured while she was in there she could reorganise it and show case some of our amazing ornaments.
