Necessity to save the unwanted animals from being put down was the main driver. To rescue and rehabilitate native and companion animals in need. Willow Wood Sanctuary took over the many animals of Willow Farm Sanctuary owned by Peg Solomon when she became too unwell to continue. We rescue and rehabilitate native and companion animals, work in natural disasters, and assist in re-homing abandoned an

imals. We work with several similar organisations with the best interests of animals as the primary driver of who we are as an organisation.

This is Sam. The smiling assassin. Sam was rescued Evanston way after his mum was the victim of a car strike. He ended up at Roseworthy. I quickly rushed to go and pick him up. Sam is nine years old now and the first of my joeys to miss out on cuddles with Nanna Peg. He attended her funeral with me. He came in the day before she died. I was glad to have a Joey attend her funeral with me to pay homage to her for all that she was for all animals. In her recipe book I have there are recipes for spiders and flies. Love my Sam. Miss my Peg.

This one. 🤣. My Euro Frodo. He scared the bejesus out of me the other day. I was raking lost in my own little world as I often am when working for the animals and he came up behind me grabbing me by the shoulders with his hands. He then proceeded to bite me and run off. None of that is unusual be is a stirrer but I thought it was a person grabbing me it felt so much like it. Normally Frodo will give you a shove in the back. He does have his sweet side though. I love him all the same. Keeps me on my toes.

I had an Emu. Ernie. Passed about 10 years ago now. What a character he was. He loved his showers would hold his wing (if you could call it that. Looked like a chicken wing 😆) up so he would get hosed under it. I have some wonderful memories of him. I can’t believe I actually had an emu and we would cuddle. He would put his neck over my shoulder. Just to think I was scared of him when he arrived. 😱. Sure do miss him.

Pebbles update. She is home Yay!! Came home with her meds and special food she needs to have only for 7 days then I’ll transition her onto her new low fat diet. Thank goodness. The special food is $9 a 420g tin. 😱. But whatever it takes. Glad to have her home she is glad to be here. Mummy will take good care of her. She is a lot brighter. Can’t fault the care she received at Noah’s Crossing Vet Clinic.
