A team of 10 PVWE members competed at the ANWE NSW State Championships at Stonewall Equestrian over the weekend.

All riders achieved 3 clear rounds - no mean feat considering the huge competition atmosphere.

Our team achieved some brilliant individual results:

Amanda Morris - 5th overall in Introductory
Cody Wilson - 3rd overall in Preliminary
Megan Lewis - 7th overall in Preliminary
Emily Rowney - Champion Debutant W

Congratulations ladies - you have all done our club proud ❤️

Not to be outdone by the adults, our child riders were amazing - they are the future of our sport:

Our President, Mel Ross, is the next member of the PVWE State Championship Team. Mel has been working hard to make sure our team is ready to put their best foot/hoof forward.

“I learnt to ride on a Shetland pony when I was about 5.
After a break due to my career, I took up riding again with my daughter when she turned 5.
After burning my horse out in dressage, we made the switch to working equitation. I love the team spirit and camaraderie in the sport, and my horse was a lot happier.

Asar Black Bear will be my partner at the state championships. Bear became part of our family as a weanling. He is a 6 year old, 17hh Heritage Stock Horse who kept growing, and this is our first year in competition. Bear was actually my daughter’s horse, but when she left home I decided to take him on as he was wasted in the paddock. It’s been a journey for us, but we finally have our sh@t together thanks to our village of local horsewomen and men.

I am excited about the state champs and the opportunity to ride at such a beautiful venue with my amazing mates, proudly representing my club.”
