🚨 WHEN YOU WORK FOR YOURSELF, WHO PAYS YOU WHEN YOU’RE SICK? 🚨

Yesterday I was crook. 🤒

And you know what? Life doesn’t stop just because you’re unwell!

The bills don’t stop.
The responsibilities don’t disappear.
And when you’re self-employed, there’s no paid sick leave waiting for you!

🐾 I love my dog grooming business, but I’m also tired of having to physically work every single day just to keep everything going.

That’s WHY I’m building something different. 🐝

Something I can work on from home.
Something that gives me another opportunity to earn.
Something I’m building towards MORE freedom and MORE choices.

💗 I’m not there yet, but I’m showing up and learning!

And I know there are other women out there feeling exactly the same.

❤️ Sometimes the hardest part of life isn’t what you’re going through… it’s realising who isn’t standing beside you anymore.

This year has tested me in ways I never imagined.

Facing life’s challenges without my Dad has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. 💔

He was one of my special people. Someone whose presence made the world feel a little safer.

And over the past 7 months, I’ve had to come to terms with something else…

Sometimes the people you thought would always be there simply aren’t.

I’ve faced grief, heartbreak, uncertainty and some incredibly difficult days without much of my family beside me.

But you know what? ❤️

The people who HAVE stayed have been everything.

My husband, my youngest daughter, one beautiful niece and one special cousin.

Four people who have shown up, checked in, listened, loved me and reminded me that I’m not completely alone.

And I couldn’t be more grateful. ❤️

This year has taught me that family isn’t always about how many people surround you.

It’s about who stands beside you when life gets messy.

I’m still grieving.
I’m still healing.
I’m still figuring things out.

But I’m also still showing up, running my grooming business and building something new through The Busy Bee Life. 🐝

Because even when life doesn’t turn out the way you imagined, you still deserve to create a future you’re excited about.

And somewhere along the way, I’ve realised…

I’m not starting over because I’ve failed. I’m starting over because I refuse to give up on myself. ❤️

To the women quietly carrying heartbreak, grief or struggles nobody sees…

I see you. You’re not alone. ❤️

🚨 UNPOPULAR OPINION… WOMEN AREN’T LAZY. WE’RE BLOODY EXHAUSTED! 🚨

And I’m going to say what so many women are thinking! 👇

We’re expected to work like we don’t have families…

Raise families like we don’t have jobs…

Keep everyone happy, pay the bills, run the household AND somehow find time for ourselves! 🤯

AND FOR WHAT?!

To wake up tomorrow and do it ALL AGAIN?! 😩

I’m nearly 50, running my own dog grooming business, working long days and STILL wondering where all the time goes!

And I’ve realised something…

🔥 I DON’T WANT TO SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE JUST GETTING THROUGH EACH WEEK!

I want choices.
I want breathing room.
I want to actually ENJOY the life I’m working so bloody hard for!

That’s why I’ve started building an online business alongside my grooming.

Am I an expert? NOPE!
Have I got it all figured out? ABSOLUTELY NOT! 😂

But I’m learning, showing up and giving myself a chance at something different.

🔥 I BECAME MY OWN BOSS FOR FREEDOM… SO WHY DO I FEEL MORE TRAPPED THAN EVER? 💔

Nobody tells you this part about running your own business…

🐝 The 12–14 hour days.
💔 The guilt of missing family time.
💸 The bills that don’t stop when you’re sick.
😩 The constant financial pressure.
🥺 The exhaustion you hide behind a smile.

I LOVE my mobile dog grooming business. 🐾❤️

But some days, I’m physically, mentally and emotionally running on EMPTY.

And I’ve started asking myself…

Is this really what I want for the next 10–15 years?

I didn’t become my own boss to work myself into the ground.

I wanted FREEDOM.
More family time.

I’m a mum of two, a wife, a small business owner, a dog groomer and a woman who’s spent years juggling ALL the things!

The early mornings.
The long working days.
The endless responsibilities.
The bills that never stop coming.
And that constant feeling that there just aren’t enough hours in the day!

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my dog grooming business. 🐶❤️

But somewhere between working ridiculous hours, raising a family and navigating life’s unexpected challenges, I started asking myself something…

Is this really how I want to spend the next 10–15 years of my life?

At almost 50, I’ve realised something pretty important.

💕 I don’t want to work harder.
💕 I want to work smarter.
💕 I want more time with the people I love.
💕 I want the freedom to make choices without everything revolving around work.

And most importantly…

I don’t want to look back one day wishing I’d done things differently.

So I’ve decided to start building something alongside my grooming business.

An online business in high-ticket sales that I’m learning, growing and navigating one step at a time.

But I’m showing up, learning and giving myself the opportunity to create something different.
