Glorious weather for today’s dressage training rally! Well done to all people and ponies - lots learned from Chari-Lee, to practice before next month’s rally when we’ll have a practice competition. Thanks Maddy, Karen and Emily for running the canteen - nothing better than a sausage on bread, or bacon and egg sandwich, under the Paracombe gums.

DON’T FORGET THE WORKING BEE! This time next week we hope to be well into our working bee to give our beautiful grounds a well-earned clean and tidy. THIS SOUNDS LIKE FUN! Strathalbyn Hunt Club have invited our members to join their training day at Ashbourne on 11 April. SHC is a non-competitve, family friendly environment - no foxes or hounds are involved. On the training day there will be a selection of jumps ranging from tiny logs to smaller cap fence style jumps. MARCH RALLY - Sunday 14th. Dressage training day with Chari-Lee Hoad, preparing for our Encourage Dressage Tests at the April rally. DIARY DATES FOR MARCH AND APRIL RALLIES - polish your saddles and boots, it's dressage! Pop the dates in your diaries and be ready for more information closer to the dates - Sunday March 14 is dressage training day followed by an encourage dressage competition on Sunday April 11. The lovely Chari-Lee Hoad will provide the instruction in March then be our guest judge in April. ALL AGES, STAGES AND LEVELS OF COMPETITIVENESS AND CONFIDENCE WARMLY WELCOMED.

FEBRUARY RALLY - from 9am on Sunday 14 February it's all about showing our horses some Valentine's Day love. $5 gets you:

- a 2 hour information session with Tracey Whiter of Cazedarnes Equestrian
- a presentation on worms and de-worming with Caroline Payne of SA Friends and Equestrians (see end of post for how to get your own horse's poo tested for worms)
- a bit of good clean horseplay with mounted games run by SA Friends and Equestrians.

The canteen will be open for lunch, and hot and cold drinks.

If you'd like to get your horse's poo tested for worms, you can bring along 1 - 2 fresh nuggets (preferably collected that morning) in a sealed ziplock bag with your name and phone number, and your horse's name, on the bag.

Members who can't make the rally can drop a sample off at the club during the day, with a $5 fee.
