It was with great sadness that I had to take my beautiful dog Rousey to be put down last Tuesday . She was diagnosed with cancer in 7 weeks prior and went down hill really quickly . I am posting this for people who knew her that are not on my personal page . I am absolutely devastated 😢.

Hello all . I hope this finds you well in some pretty tough times .
Things in the world of dog ownership have changed massively during this pandemic with so many people taking on new additions . I trust everything is going well .
The reason I am writing is to remind you that it is tick season . I had a dog turn up to one of my training classes recently and within a short time he could hardly stand . Luckily we new the symptoms and found the tick in his ear . He was rushed straight to the vet and after treatment , an overnight stay for observation and between $1500 and $2000 , he is now going to make a full recovery . The ironic thing is that the owner had the tick treatment at home but just hadn't got around to giving it to the dog . I was guilty of the same thing a little while ago with my cat , costing me $1000 . Both of these of these episodes could have been avoided saving us both a lot of money and our pets a lot of anguish . Just saying . Check around for the best treatment plan for your pet and keep them up to date .

Hello again fellow dog lovers . I hope this finds you all well in these times of uncertainty .
I am writing in regards to a news article I saw recently about the sudden rise in people purchasing dogs to assist them in getting through this period . Being the owner of 2 dogs myself I find it great therapy to be able to get them out and go for walks in the countryside .I do this everyday even when we are not in lockdown as I have boarding kennels and work from home .
I do not want to put anyone off getting a dog , but as I have mentioned in previous posts , you need to put a lot of thought into it . Remember that you could possibly have your dog for up to 15 years .
The current lockdown and isolation has an end date . None of us know how long this will be but lets hope it is a matter of weeks or at a maximum months .
Getting a new dog at this time will ensure that it will have plenty of attention as we are off work and the kids are off school .
Looking to the future when the threat is over and we go back to work and the kids go back to school the new dogs life changes dramatically and it has no company for very long periods .
There are ways to stop this happening and avoid the dog developing separation anxiety when the day does come .
One is that when you get the new dog you should be giving it periods of alone time and these should be varied in length so as not to condition the dog to a certain time .
For those of you that have dogs and possibly need a break from them or would like them to have a bit of other dog company , my kennels are open for business weather it be for day care or overnight stays . If you require our services please call 0243621130 and speak with myself or Mel .

This lovely boy is Harley. He has been abandoned and is looking for a new family. He is an American Staffy, just over a year old. He has a great nature, is good with other dogs he loves a cuddle a good walk and splashing around in puddles.

Hello fellow dog lovers. If you get a chance today, head down to the entertainment grounds in Gosford for the Australian spirit family fun day. This event is to help raise money for assistance dogs for our veterans and first responders. Leasha Has done amazing work putting this event together. Gold coin donation and lots of fun and entertainment for the whole family. I hope to see you there.

Hello again fellow dog lovers . It is getting warmer and the Tick season is well underway with many presentations at vets already . It is my advice to you that you get quality Tick treatment for your dogs sooner rather than later . The old saying is "prevention is better than cure " . If your dog gets a paralysis tick you are up for atleast $1000 .
Speaking of vet costs , you may be aware that my Rotti has had a litter of 10 , and I just took them to my vet for their 6 week vaccinations , microchipping and health check . The total cost was $650 and the staff were fantastic . I did get quotes from another vet and their quote was $1050 . Like anything else related to dogs I suggest you do your research .
Our boarding kennels are going really well and we are filling up fast for the holiday periods so get in early .
The puppies are all doing very well and Rousey is an outstanding mother . It is not often that a bitch has 10 pups in her first litter and doesn't lose one . I am sure those people taking one of her pups will get alot of pleasure out of them .

Last time I wrote I was in the process of moving into Palmdale boarding kennels . We are pleased to announce that things are going very well . It is our aim to keep plenty of dogs in the kennels . I neglected to tell my rottweiler, Rousey, that we are in the business of boarding other peoples dogs and don't have to fill the kennels with our own dogs . She is the proud mum of 5 boys and 5 girls delivered on monday 6th of August . Mum an pups are doing very well . If you are planning on boarding you dogs in the future please consider Palmdale kennels . We are talking regular bookings for the holiday periods so make your plans and give us a call .
