2 day Quentin Stapleton Reined Cow Horse Clinic | 23rd-24th August | at Teyleu Equine TRANGIE NSW

Quentin Stapleton is based in Oberon, NSW.
Here he runs a horse training operation, named QRS Equine Services, specialising in Reined Cowhorses. Among many accomplishments in his ridden career, Quentin was the 2022 ARCHA Open Derby Champion and most recently the 2023 NRCHAA Open Derby Champion. With the increasing interest in the sport of reined cowhorse, this clinic is not one to miss!

The clinic will be aimed at building connection between Horse and rider, mastering dry work fundamentals to ensure you don’t miss the easy points and are starting to score the high marks. Along with perfecting key training skills through use of the mechanical cow and helping you and your horse to read and work your cattle.

The fee will include:
Your 2 days of the clinic
One camping space (power and water available)
One horse yard
All meals

Following on with our line up of Training Days this winter, just in time to set both YOU and YOUR HORSE up for success during the spring show calendar, we have the master of all things Cow Horse, Quentin Stapleton returning for a day of his arena wisdom.

Focusing on riding the reining pattern (or dry work pattern for the Stockman's Challenge competitors) to maximize your score and deliver a smooth, accurate pattern; Quentin will share his knowledge of correct/appropriate tack for your class, tips on how to execute the pattern to be awarded those +1 scores and how each maneuver should be preformed correctly.

Over our lunch break and though out the day Q will also delve into the area of Competition Mindset; unpacking the simple techniques that can help us and our horses stay present, calm and performing at our best in the show pen.

As always, our events here at Montrose are open to everyone, no matter what discipline you hail from, what breed of horse you ride or your level of experience. Quentin has an awesome ability to reach everyone in a simple, easy to understand and practical manner, so don't let fear stop you from chasing down your goals!

Riding positions are limited to 10 at our training days.

Good morning! Sometimes we get so busy we forget to just stop and smell the roses…… or leather! During our insanely hectic preparations for the NCHA futurity we didn’t get a chance to take many photos of individual saddles. But I did get a couple of group photos of these when I sat them outside to soak up some neatsfoot oil. Seeing all these saddles side by side I couldn’t help but think “this is cool”!! I think anyone that creates something can relate…. No matter if it’s a new fence…..a house…..a pair of spurs……or even looking over the pen at some well shorn sheep! If your hands made it you should be proud of it. I hope you all have a great weekend, I’m looking forward to heading west to some warmer weather😉☀️☀️🐮🐴
