To our valued clients,
After over 26 years of business, it is time for us to say goodbye.
As many of you know, the property - including The Gums, has been for sale for some time. On Wednesday, after a while on the market, we went unconditional on the sale.
Unfortunately, the new owners will not be continuing The Gums as a boarding kennel which means that the 20th July will be our last day of trade. We have spoken honestly to many of you about this already, but we will be in contact with everybody who has made upcoming bookings to make alternative arrangements.
To the family's that have trusted us with your dogs, cats, horses, birds, guinea pigs and even chickens - thank you. We think of pets as family, and it has been a privilege to care for yours as if they were our own.
Over the past 26 years, we've had the joy - and sometimes heartache, of watching fur babies turn into old souls, welcoming familiar faces back year after year, and building friendships with so many of you along the way.
The next chapter is bittersweet. While we're very much looking forward to retirement, we will miss the wagging tails and excited welcomes that greet us at the door and the conversations and catch-up that made The Gums so much more than just a business for us.
We can't quite put into words what this journey has meant to us, and honestly, we're quite emotional just writing this post, but from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to you all for your loyalty, kindness and most of all your support over the years. We couldn't have asked for a better community, and we feel so grateful to have been part of yours and your pet's lives.
