Trialing some new fish food methods. We got an Anko blender from Kmart and have been mixing it up a little bit depending on what we have available.

The blender is now in the bin as it couldn’t handle what we put through it. Next will be a food processor.

The fish go crazy for this mix, nearly everything in the store loves it. This was a more green based mix for herbivorous fish but our last mix was more meat based for the piscivores and carnivorous fish.

Ingredients:

Sardines
Mussels
Prawns (with shell)
Salmon
Duckweed
Frozen artemia and marine green mix
Spirulina powder
Garlic guard (for taste)
Astaxanthin capsules (for colour)

The oscar babies, catfish and plecos in particular have been loving it. Loaches and goldfish too!

Comment below if you have any suggestions for things we could add!

Amano shrimp finally back in!

There are less than 20, very limited stock. These are one of the best algae eaters around for planted tanks. They grow larger than cherry shrimp so are safe with a variety of fish. We keep a few in our cube tank next to the counter 😁

Our oscar babies are growing up big and strong! Hopefully not too long until they’re up for grabs!

Excited to not only have local bred oscars, but also bred in house so we know the quality and health from day 1!

World’s most adorable polypterus!!

Albino Senegal bichirs are here and in very limited numbers!

A unique colour mutation of the common Senegal bichir, with yellow pigmented skin and bright pink eyes. Their colour can be accentuated by astaxanthin rich foods such as krill, prawn or colour enhancing pellets.

Suitable tank mates include but are not limited to angelfish, large tetras, barbs, some semi peaceful cichlids, rainbowfish.

Bichirs of all species requie sturdy lids as they are extreme escape artists.

These are live on our website now, and also in store for local collection.

Black ater catfish now in store and online!

These guys are such a cool native catfish, found in the northern reaches of Australia.

Adults change from jet black to gold within breeding. Just like a tandanus but a little more polite and beautiful 😍
