Tomorrow, we will honour our beloved pets alongside Patch and Purr as we take part in Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. 🌈🤍
Our waiting room will be a little more colourful than usual, and our team will be joining in with their most colourful outfits too!

We understand that the loss of a beloved pet is a deeply personal and emotional experience. As a clinic, we hope to help brighten what can be an incredibly difficult part of life by celebrating the special memories and keeping the love we have for our past pets alive in a light and meaningful way.

If you would like to take part, you are welcome to bring along a photo of your beloved animal to add to our memorial wall, or write their name on our remembrance board. 🤍

We look forward to remembering and celebrating the wonderful pets who have touched our lives and will always hold a special place in our hearts. 🌈🐾

Last week, Drs Brianna and Jeremy investigated Cedric’s ongoing throat irritation, which had been troubling him for around two months.

Using video endoscopy, we were shocked to discover a 20cm piece of serrated plant material embedded in the wall of his oesophagus! 🌿😳

Cases like Cedric’s are a great reminder that persistent coughing, gagging, swallowing difficulties or throat irritation can sometimes have a surprising cause!

Thank you to the kind member of the public who brought little Mia into the clinic when she decided to take herself on a walk (without her owner’s permission!). Little did you know that Mia suffers from a hormonal disease called Addison’s, which requires close monitoring and daily medication.

Her lovely (and certainly relieved!) owner, Di, very kindly dropped in some delicious cupcakes to thank us for our small part in helping Mia. 🧁💗

Within seconds of being out of their carriers, Lumi and Nova were exploring every corner of the consult room, climbing the furniture and making their way up to the windowsill for the view, and to enjoy a well-earned kitty treat.

These beautiful Bengals are full of confidence and adventure, but were incredibly well behaved for their vaccinations today. We think they earned a few extra treats for being such good patients!

🦆 How’s that for a big lump!

Last week, Dr Hamish removed the stitches from this little duck after successfully removing a large feather follicle cyst from its wing the fortnight before.

Measuring around 6 cm across, these cysts are relatively common in birds. While they’re not cancerous, they contain feathers and keratin, making them essentially a giant ingrown feather.

With the stitches out and the incision beautifully healed, our feathered friend was cleared to return to the flock - and wasted no time enjoying a much-needed swim!

Zena’s one big pup! 🐾

This gorgeous Boerboel first visited us at just 6 weeks of age for her first vaccination, alongside her breeder.

Since then, we’ve watched her grow at an incredible rate - doubling her weight, then doubling it again, and almost doubling it once more by the time she finished her puppy vaccinations!

Not only has Zena grown into an impressive young dog, but she’s also been a superstar at our in-clinic puppy preschool, winning everyone over with her sweet nature.

We can’t wait to watch this gentle giant continue to grow!

UPDATE - yes! Milo ate a Garmin watch strap. Amazingly the watch strap had been lost 3 months beforehand (without his own noticing a naughty kitty eating it!) and he hadn’t shown any signs of being unwell, until it moved form his stomach into his small intestine.

🐱🔍 It’s TIME for a guessing game!

Recently, Dr Jeremy treated Milo, a young cat who hadn’t been acting like himself for a few days. After reviewing his X-rays, we became concerned that Milo may have swallowed something he shouldn’t have.

He was taken straight into surgery, where the foreign object was successfully removed without any complications. The good news? Milo is now a few weeks post-op and back to his happy, playful self! ❤️

🦭Recently Dr Josh was lucky enough to attend a training day run by National Parks and Wildlife Services and their Marine team.

As part of the day, Josh learnt about managing marine events such as beached whales and dolphins and how to help injured seals (which sometimes involves a big net!)
