🐾 A Note on Ear Care🐾
I sometimes get questions about ear plucking, and I wanted to share my approach and why I choose it.
While some grooming practices include plucking hair from inside a dog's ears, I generally do not perform this procedure. My philosophy is rooted in gentle care, and I believe that plucking can be quite painful, cause irritation, or even lead to ear infections by creating tiny abrasions where bacteria can thrive.
Instead, I focus on:
*Gentle cleaning: Carefully wiping out debris and wax.
*Strategic trimming: Trimming any excess hair from the outer ear canal opening to ensure good air circulation.
I believe this method promotes healthier ears and a more positive grooming experience for your pup. If your dog has a history of severe ear matting or persistent ear issues, I always recommend consulting with your vet, who can assess the best course of action.
