It’s been a busy time here at the farm lately!
We had a great farm gathering over the weekend, full of lots of great conversation and food! Thanks to those who came, we’ll be having these gatherings once a month.

We’re also well into planting out the summer crops as well harvesting lots of delicious veggies for The Aviary Cafe.

If you’ve walked past the farm lately, you would have noticed the stunning work that Jon, who lives on site, has done in the front yard.

All the flowers are coming out and looking beautiful.

In other news, we’re going to start up a hangout and working bee time at the farm on the first Saturday of every month. Feel free to come along!

Our potatoes that were planted a month ago have started to pop up! (With another 4 rows put in this week.)

There’ll be a lot of mash potato on the menu at The Aviary Cafe in a few months! 🥔🥔

We’ve also harvested some baby carrots and snow peas that will be used in some of the meals cooked at the cafe this week!

As we enter spring, preparations have begun for the summer crops.
Seedlings have been planted out in the hothouse at the Farm, now the nervous wait to see if they pop up!

The snow peas got a bit blown around in the wet and windy weather, but they’re coming back strong! We’re loving the beautiful flowers, that will start to develop into the edible pods.

We’ve also harvested some cabbages that will be used tonight at The Aviary Cafe for the community dinner, which is at 5pm 🙂

Winter crops are blooming here at The Farm Next Door!

We’ve harvested some broccoli this morning that The Aviary Cafe will use in some delicious meals this week.
