40 starter pullet chickens were collected from Noosa Rural Produce on Wednesday . Some actually laid small eggs while waiting to be collected. Noosa Rural Produce have most chicken requirements in store at 1/40 Rene Street Noosaville. Diatomaceous Earth is a naturally occuring subtance used for control of mites and lice while Pestene is an alternative along with Coopex. Calcium and nutirional and electrolyte supplements are in store. Heating plates to keep those baby chicks warm after hatching as well as incubators for eggs yet to be hatched. There are a few ways to worm chickens to maintain maximum health. Red Hen supply dewormer in 2 of their grain products. Garlic and chilli along with sulphur are other alternatives, While Bainbridge dewormer or Piperazine in liquid form is a safe way to worm your chickens. The easiest way to use these is to make up a strong solution as the label suggests and add to drinking water.
Orders are being taken for next delivery on 2nd September . Noosa Rural Produce has another pallet of the very popular baled garden mulch . It is spray free and produced locally, and is excellent for gardens, chicken coops, archery , and party seating.

Noosa Rural Produce have noticed that more and more people are keeping chickens for their own egg consumption especially with the increase in prices of foodstuffs at the supermarket. Mother nature created perfect packaging with an egg. A protein rich food supply is all wrapped up neatly in a shell to fit. Backyard chickens are not only a great food source, they are great amusing pets, and they reduce the lawn grub and baby cane toad population, instead of using chemicals to combat those pests.. Automatic doors for the chicken coop are a great way to keep the foxes and snakes out at night and are not expensive. Country Heritage is a certfied organic chicken feed and is stocked at Noosa Rural Produce. It is available in Soy Free Coarse Layer, Coarse Layer, Backyard Layer Pellet, Chic/Pullet Crumble and more. Although expensive it is one small way to ensure your eggs are as good as they can be.
Laucke Mills Red Hen Range is a beaufiful appetising grain which chickens seem to love. High protein pellets and a 17 % protein chicken crumble as well as the Free Range meat free range are just a few in their range on offer at Noosa Rural Produce.
Simone once again won the monthly draw for July and will collect her bag of Micronised Barley. Lucky customers are often given a hand made chicken. Stockman and Paddock grain free dried dog food is a popular product sold at Noosa Rural Produce. It comprises of 18% fat and 28% protein. To spoil and provide the best feed outcome, the addition of fresh kangaroo mince, kangaroo pieces, chicken mince, combo ( beef, mince, and roo) or beef completes the diet for your dog. Traffic delays due to the bypass from the Doonella bridge reconstruction, is a problem for shoppers so Noosa Rural Produce are happy to help customers by offering delivery.
They encourage customers to call on 54498844 as help will be on its way. Another delivery of starter pullets (16 weeks) arrived at Noosa Rural Produce on Wednesday. Orders are now being taken for collection 22nd July. Some of the chickens waiting for collection last Wednesday actually laid eggs in the cage. Chickens are becoming more and more popular as people crave for clean pure food. Not only do they provide us with a great home grown source of food they also reduce lawn grub and cane toad population.
All type of grain are available at Noosa Rural Produce. AGM and Jenco are a good clean, dependable, cost effective, high protein feed, whereas Laucke Mills Red Hen range is a more luxurious feed. Country Heritage credited organic grain, provides the organic grain buyer a range of pellets, coarse layer grain, soy free coarse layer, fine layer mash and more.

Michelle won the monthly June draw once again at Noosa Rural Produce.

Starter Pullet chickens will be available for collection Wednesday 8th July. Orders are being taken and close off on Moday 6th July.
Nesting Herbs are in stock for those chicken owners who like to spoil their chickens. They freshen the nesting box and coop and are great for chickens to peck on as well as may assist in pest control. Herbs consisting of Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Lavender are included in the mix. Morning Mix comprising of Blacksoldier fly larvae, raisin, pumpkin seeds and mealworms is another treat for those quaint egg producing animals. Winter is a good time for egg production as moulting may be finished and snakes and goannas are not in abundance during the colder months.

"Combo" (fresh frozen beef mince, chicken mince and kangaroo mince) is selling well as a great dog or cat food. It is a provided by a family owned and operated business with fresh delivery weekly. Kangaroo mince and pieces are a high protein low fat meat and are a favourite for customers. With the adddition of a quality kibble pets can thrive. Stockman and Paddock grain free is the favoured kibble although Blackhawk lamb and rice and chicken and rice are not far behind.

The old favourite baled garden mulch is freshly in stock once again for the garden enthusiasts.
